Rookie contracts.

What is the minimum amount that a 1st round pick can be paid in his first contract in base salary?

Is there a maximum amount that a 1st round pick can make in base salary? In incentives?

And does the initial contract have to be a certain number of years long?

Thanks for any help.

If I'm not mistaken, the minimum a first rounder can get for his first NHL season is 1,025,000$. Is it still the same amount or did it change lately, I don't know.

Perhaps someone else can confirm, or correct me.

Is it legally stated that the minimum is $1.025 million, or is that just the lowest it's been based on the market value of these players?
