Good move, Florida needed an enforcer. Barch is not too much of a liability as well.

Makes sense... Florida are probably the softest team and will have a lot of young guys coming up

Very happy with this. Barch shouldn't have been allowed to leave in the first place last year.

Good riddance. Janssen better be next or demoted to Albany.

So we lose Barch's salary and roster space while getting a higher pick and minor league depth. Well done Lou

He's an enforcer but I seen Barch lose in fights more often than not.

Really? So screw toughness as a whole basically? Unless you want that D who got demolished by Prust as an enforcer...

I personally don't think this team needs an enforcer. Waste of a roster spot, especially with all the depth the devils currently have.

Makes sense, deal made out of familiarity. Florida gets a fighter they used to have, New Jersey gets a player who played under coach Pete DeBoer.

Several beat writers seem to feel this is a sign of confidence in Janssen.

Asham, Bickel, Mashinter are all pretty tough dudes.

LOVE this! He's better than Parros in every capacity, and he's beaten Parros as well. Won't do much vs Orr, but he can handle guys in his weight class.

At least he'll fight. Parros won't even fight, or at least he'll ask you to sign a gentleman's contract first.

Probably a win win.
The Devils seem to be rid of a player they didnt really want and adding a guy who can fight will probably help Florida moving into the Atlantic division.

Unlike Florida and Detroit, the Rangers dont play in a division with Orr, Kassian, Parros, McLaren, Scott, Lucic, Neil, Fraser, Thornton and some others.

Timmins is a good call up. He'll provide a solid 4th line center when you need one and won't hurt you defensively.

Enforcers have nothing to do with toughness, it's team toughness that matters.

I'm sick of soft teams signing a 4 minute a night goon and then saying "See, we're tough now!". That's not how it works.

Guys like Zubrus, Clowe, Salvador, Bernier, Carter are actual HOCKEY PLAYERS that also happen to be tough MF'ers. That's what makes your team tough, the guys who are tough AND can play a regular shift. Not goons who get into staged fights with old buddies.
