No it's not. In his last five NHL seasons he's taken 577 FOs. He's won 302 and lost 275. That's an average of 52% won over his last five seasons.

Even if you decide to add his rookie season when he was a teenager not even close to ready for NHL action, he's still above 50% over his entire career, counting all regular season games.

Where did you find that? I thought it was less than 50%.

NHL.com - Feel free to do the math yourself.

EDIT: I forgot about the seven games he played after his last junior season, before his actual rookie year. Those seven games are enough to give him THREE fewer wins than losses in his NHL career. 451W and 454L for a total of 49.83%. Haha. Like I said, ditch the games played as a teenager and he's at something like 52% in his career.

Although Yahoo indicates that his career FO% is just under .500, as RT points out, Brule had become a lot better in the dot after his rookie season.

Small sample size though, he only took 21 draws that season. When he took ~200+ draws in a season with the Oilers his FO% was like .520.

If he can be around .52% that would be nice.

He took at least one face off in only thirteen games with us that season.

1. 50%
2. 0%
3. 0%
4. 66%
5. 100%
6. 50%
7. 100%
8. 100%
9. 0%
10. 0%
11. 0%
12. 0%
13. 0%

He was 8W 13L in 21FO. He averaged less than two face-offs per game in which he had one face-off. This is the definition of small sample size.

Let's just say for example:

1. 50%- 2 draws, split
2. 0%- 1 draw, 1 loss
3. 0%- 1 draw, 1 loss
4. 66%- 3 draws, 2 win, 1 loss
5. 100%- 1 draw, 1 win
6. 50%-2 draws, split
7. 100%- 1 draw, 1 win
8. 100%- 1 draw, 1 win
9. 0%- 1 draw, 1 loss
10. 0%- 1 draw, 1 loss
11. 0%- 1 draw, 1 loss
12. 0%- 1 draw, 1 loss
13. 0% - 1 draw, 1 loss

That would be 17 draws, 7W and 10L and 41%. Obviously he took a few more in some of those games and didn't win at quite that rate. Just an example of how ridiculously minute that data actually is. An extra win or two in an extra game or two, and it's an entirely different story.

He's only 26 and was on the best team in Yotes history. Worth a shot, never understood why he wasn't brought back last year.

I'm convinced someone in the coyotes front office reads these forums. A couple years ago someone, I believe it was rt, was saying we should trade a bunch of crap, rustic auburn sunset and Todd fedoruk, to Tampa for Radim Vrbata. It happened. Then before last year it seemed like everyone wanted Matt Lombardi back from Toronto, with some salary retained because of our financial proems, to fill the open center position. It happened. And now this summer we talked a lot about signing Greiss to be the backup goalie and picking up Brl to fill out the bottom of the roster and now they both happened. Well the Brl thing is still a maybe but he is getting a shot.

Haha. Maybe you guys should speculate about bringing in a star player.

I might add that we were LOADED with good faceoff men at that point. Without Gordon our excellent faceoff crop is now merely above average.

Assuming Hanzal bounces back on that front anyway. And he may not with the new rules

Well, I'm pretty sure nearly all of us had Ribiero at the top of our free agency wish list this year, and it actually happened! Although I don't think anyone actually predicted we would land Ribs. Lol.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone from the FO actually read our musings. But I think it's probably more that our collective, pretty well-informed, and mostly practical thinking as a fanbase is simply just in tune with how Maloney and his staff actually think in terms of roster building. Eventually one or two of the many ideas we generate just happens to stick, haha.

I liked Brule when he was here. I was also disappointed to see he wasn't brought back last year. I'm glad we're giving him a shot in camp.

Didn't Brule also score against Chicago in game 6?

I thought Brule played good in the playoffs. I was pissed we didn't bring him back last year. I think it was rt that called him Doan-lite. Couldn't be more accurate.

Correct. He had 2 goals in that series.

I loved the Brule/Chipchura combo we had.

I am glad we gave Brule another shot. He deserves it and him and Chip had great chemistry together. Pure energy.
