From ESPN: http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/16...y-roma?cc=5901

"MLS clubs were notified around the start of the year that Bradley was available and clubs were instructed to let the league know if they were interested. Given its financial muscle, and with new Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment CEO Tim Leiweke eager to turn around the struggling club’s fortunes, Toronto F.C. quickly moved to the front of the line.

But sources told ESPNFC.com that Bradley had been looking for an exit even before Nainggolan’s arrival, with his lack of playing time in a World Cup year his primary concern.

Sources confirmed that the proposed financial commitment TFC is making is considerable. MLS is poised to sign Bradley to a contract in the five to six-year range at an annual salary in the neighborhood of $6.5 million. There was conflicting data in terms of the transfer fee, with one overseas source indicating that Roma expects to receive $7 million. But multiple MLS sources stated that the league expects to pay in excess of $10 million. Much like Dempsey, Bradley likely found it impossible to turn down such a lucrative offer.

As for MLS, it amounts to another major coup, as the league can now claim to have the top three U.S. players –- Bradley, Dempsey, and Landon Donovan –- all playing in North America."

Man, I'm excited but I need all these signings to become official before I become ecstatic. I need closure. But damn if this isn't an exciting time to be a TFC fan.

It's like the Blue Jays last season moves only with more hype because Bradley and Defoe are huge for MLS, like huge! Out of left field as well.

WOW! Just read the article, this came out of nowhere! This is a huge huge coup for TFC. Getting Defoe and Bradley wow..kind of shocked to be honest. Where was this financial commitment in the past? 6.5 to 7 million a year on a 6 year contract for Bradley is huge. Like I said I wish TFC made this kind of commitment earlier in their history. But hey better late than never, hopefully it pans out on the pitch and we make a run for a championship.

We still lack a RB, If Leba cap is bought down and Bradley and Defoe do sign are line up should look something like this,

*** Henry Caldwell Morrow

------Leba Bradley--------

Jackson---------- Osorio

------ Gilberto Defoe

Where's DeRo?

And wow I didn't even know Frei was traded to the Sounders...shows how far behind I am on my knowledge of TFC.

Its nice to see TL wasn't blowing smoke when he was talking about TFC earlier in the year and it's nice to Se DeRo back, even though he's not at the same level as when he left.

Leiweke has been true to his word with respect to making TFC his top priority.

Defoe, Bradley, Gilberto, DeRo, Morrow, and Jackson have been added to the roster so far this off season, if the reports are accurate.

It's been a truly remarkable makeover, the most astonishing in MLS history.

HUGEEEEEE news! As a heartbroken TFC fan since day 1 who has lost faith in the franchise, this is unreal!

Just one thing I'm not sure on... By my count TFC already has 3 DP players in Laba, Gilberto, and Defoe coming. How will Bradley make that much money and not be a DP?

Laba can have his salary paid down to non DP status with allocation to comply with the DP limit, and TFC has an abundance of it this season.

Lineup will probably be something like

Gilberto---Defoe
DeRo----Bradley----Hall----Osorio
Morrow---Caldwell---Henry---Jackson
Bendik

GK backup: Konopka
CB backup: Agbossoumonde, Bloom
RB backup: Bloom, Richter, Hall
LB backup: Morgan, Elmer (would be surprised if he stays), Hall
CM backup: Osorio, Dero, Bekker
Winger backup: Lambe, Jackson, Rey
ST backup: Dike, Welshman, Wiedeman

If Laba could somehow be retained it would be massive because TFC could really use another central mid

4 More days. Can't wait TFC still has to deal with Eckersley, and make a few other moves for depth, They need to bring in some MLS Vets.
