The song says it best... "Nothing else matters" we can argue about potential, trades gone wrong, bad contracts, big drafts but really in the end The Cup is all that matters to this team, this fan base and this city.

I'm a member of a generation that was born and raised listening to parents and grandparents talk about Stanley Cups, but never seeing one myself. A generation that has now reached adulthood and is waiting for the first story to tell their soon to come children of a Stanley Cup in Montreal. Until the 25th banner goes up, nothing else matters

I also never saw MTL raise a Cup and I want to see it so badly. Really hope we can go all the way one year

Having seen every cup since birth in 69 I can tell you 2 that it is truly spectacular and mezmarizing. Nothing like it in the world. I have also celebrated a friends cup win in 02 and was part of the parade and party. Fun but nothing like a HABS cup celebration. THIS IS and SHOULD be all that MATTERS to HABS fans.

I'm in the same boat as you man, born in 1994 I never saw the Habs win a cup. The Cup is all that matters, and I hope I get to see the Habs hoist one in my lifetime.

Which is why I get so upset at fans trying to break the bank for a contending team this year. I've waited all my life I can wait a few years while the right pieces fall into place and we win building a contender over time not throwing pieces together for a quick run A-la Gainey and hoping for the best

"Do I ever dream about winning the Stanley Cup?
I dream about it every night"

- P.K. Subban

This video is ****ing awesome. Thanks man. Funny how I'm in the same boat as Habsfannick, DanltQC & AJMHABS...funny but not so much when you really think about it.

Yeah it's actually kind of depressing, but don't worry, our time will come soon.

Hopefully...

Amazing video. Song fits with it perfectly, although I would have the Metallica version (original), but it's still outstanding.

First off, thanks 29dryden29 for posting this.

Second, for those of you that haven't experienced the Habs winning a cup. Let me tell you, it's one of the most exciting things you'll ever get to experience. Especially if you're in Montreal when it happens.

I was born in late '93 so I was too late to see their last Cup. Hopefully I'll be seeing one in the next few years!

My family has relatives in MTL so we would do a family reunion in MTL during the SCF when the HABS were in the finals so we were always in town for the parade and man it is spine tingling.

Born in 1989, so I can't say I have any memory of our last Cup victory. At that time, my family wasn't huge on hockey, but with time, it became the no.1 sport, surpassing soccer, even when Poland reaches the group stages of FIFA or EURO World Cups. It's something that I wish to experience with my dad, and he sure feels the same way about it.

I watched the Habs beat the expansion St-Louis Blues on a little black-and-white TV in 1968, I watched them beat the Kings in 1993, and I watched all of the Cups during the 25 years in between. Bruins fans and their great-grandchildren won't equal the 10 Stanley Cups I've already seen my Habs win.

The dynasty years were cool and I was privileged to have seen the team live many times. But I can tell you the best Stanley Cups are the ones that are hardest to get. 1986 was amazing because Montreal wasn't the favourite, until this skinny kid Roy came out of nowhere to help us win. 1993 was my favourite, because Roy and the team triumphed against all odds and against all mathematical reason. Those OT games were insane!

Since then, a long wait between Cups has become the norm. We may have to wait a few more years, but the next time Montreal wins, you guys will get to witness the best Stanley Cup yet because it will have been the toughest to get.

Meanwhile, don't forget that every time a player from any team lifts that beautiful silver trophy, he's lifting a whole bunch of Canadiens names and teams engraved on it.

Winning the Stanley Cup is the only trophy that really counts for this Hab fan, while it's nice to see Subban win the Norris Trophy, which was owned by the Habs in the 50's. Like PK says he dreams of winning the Cup as a Hab! Players like Subban that have grown up being Hab fans, truly make great team players as PK has shown.

Jesus Christ, opening on Therrien's face was terrifying.

Honestly it's not fair that they compare the current roster with the cup winners of the past. In this video we see Therrien, Desharnais, Prust and freaking Bouillon talk about their Stanley Cup dreams as if we're in the Finals and gearing up for the last stretch. It's not a fair comparison to evoke for the champions of the past or these guys themselves. The day Desharnais lifts the cup is the day I'll eat my hat.

I've seen you promise to eat your hat on several occasions. I think secretly you're just hoping you're wrong so can get some of that delicious hat.
