Rate the 2014 QMJHL Draft

Rate and comment about each team's draft performance at the 2014 QMJHL draft held in Sherbrooke.

Focus on the trades, draft picks and upside especially potential four, maybe five season players for a team and the league.

I think the Islanders made out like bandits. Snagging Getson in the third round is crazy. Hats off to Sonier & co.

From what I'm hearing the Islanders had possibly the best draft.

Halifax I think did okay with what they had to work with, but Cam needs to keep our first next year and possibly get a few more. We have a solid supporting cast for another run, but we need some big picks to carry the offense down the road.

That's 2 years in a row where Charlottetown come out looking like they had the best draft.

Adding Mason McDonald via trade last season, they're on track to contend.

Doubt we'll ever see Brushett in an Islanders sweater but, yeah, Charlottetown had a great day.

Moose had a good day. Disappointed not to get Harvey or Pickard etc.

He would have gone much earlier if he had good chances to report.

Personally, I thought the Tigres had a pretty good draft.

They more than likely replaced Diaby with two huge D's in Huot and Beck, and snagged a player who should have been drafted in the first round in Lauzon in the 2nd round.

Gleizes was also a good pickup from what it seems.

Rouyn were slick with their multiple trade downs, grabbing pretty good players later than they should have gone. Abbandonato, Grégoire and Harvey were pretty good pickups at their respective ranks of selection. Tourigny was there to help and it appeared.

Personally, I was happy with how the draft went for Sherbrooke. Fitzpatrick fills a huge hole for the present, and the future. Grégoire was probably picked up a bit earlier than he should have gone but you can't let local talent slip. And Thierus was an amazing call at #28. Charbonneau said he was their plan B would Grégoire not be available at #16. Thierus was the 2nd best goal scorer last year in Midget AAA, there's no way he should have been there. Poulin is the son of former Hab Patrick, and he had tremendous playoffs, if he has half the heart his father had, we just grabbed a pretty good junior hockey player.

Moncton went down the border again and it might pay off if they report, I was joking with Jérôme Bérubé yesterday, half of their team could be from the states next year, plus two euros. Not many spots left for Québec or maritime players

Laberge was a no-brainer at #2, but Sartoris at #12? What the hell Benoît? Typical out of the blue Gatineau pick.
