For ****s sake people, free agency isn't a 5-star restaurant with your choice of soup, salad and main. It's 8 plates and 30 ****ers are fighting for their bite. You can't just pick whoever you want, offer them a contract and they sign. It's not like that. Wake up, seriously.

Sure Bolland is a bit more than I wanted to spend, but we are the damn Panthers, we have to spend. And honestly we were never going to get a game breaker in free agency. It never happens. Yah sure, Vanek was available. But guess what? He's available because he's not a gamebreaker. He's not an elite talent, he disappeared in the playoffs. Who wants someone like that?

Free agency is for complimentary players, and we got some good ones. Really good ones. This franchise will only go as far as Barkov, Bjugstad and the rest of the kids take us. If they don't pan out, we will suck for another decade, and that's a lock.

We finally spent some cash, stop crying and at least watch the team play before you all start *****ing like spoiled little kids. Good teams spend money, that's what we are trying to do. Pittsburgh, Chicago, LA, Boston, they all spend money to win. We could sit on our hands and wallets for another two years until that perfect free agent comes around that just doesn't exist, or we could take action and try and surround these kids with the right kind of players so they develop into the NHLers we all know they can be one day.

Seriously, be happy that Viola and Co. are open to spending cash. Isn't that what we've always wanted? I legitimately cannot take some of the whining and crying I hear on this board. I'm first to criticize the team, but at least I wait until I've seen a ****ing game.
I agree with this sentiment.
Until we start winning, I don't expect to attract too many top end free agents.
And we should be more worried about how the young players will respond to Gallant, because they are the key to how far this franchise will go.

I'm pretty happy. I just wanted to see DT add some better players to the roster to compliment the young guys. He did that. Now I want to see Huberdeau step up. No excuses.

+ Gudbranson + Kulikov + Flash + Kopecky (most notably).

I'll leave Upshall out since he had a respectable season. Gudbranson, Kuli and Hubs need to take steps forward. Flash and Kopecky need to play like vets and contribute.

This cannot/should not be the final roster given the large number of centers and LWs and the need for RWs. One would assume that Flash, Kopecky, Shore/Piri and a D prospect or two are available. Washington would be a logical trade partner.

Jokinen can also play on the right. Pirri could also be converted.

Jokinen-pirri-upshall-hayes-thornton

If there is a trade it will likely be for defense.

I would have said Boyes and Upshall, since they are both top 9 RW better suited to play the 3rd line, but capable of playing a top 6 role in a pinch. However, we really lack a legitimate top 6 RW IMO.

I knew I was missing someone-boyes-but the point remains that we do have depth at rw even if we don't have a real top line rw.

Quick question.. Have the Panthers announced any changes with club red seating?
Would love to see people in those seats...
I was hoping new ownership would make some changes..

I read somewhere around the end of the season that they were shrinking Club Red into one section instead of three and would be allowing fans to buy single-game tickets in there as well.

I'll be creating the Seattle Goth Otters as a team in NHL 15. It has to happen.
