You should see what eklund from hockeybuzz is saying about graboviski. He says that ottawa is in the mix of teams that are after him.

I love how he speaks to us not wanting to acquire any additional salary, and then suggest a deal where we take on 4.5 million in salary two sentences later.

Oh, bloggers employed by supposedly legitimate publications you so poor.
So glad its bogus

Rule of thumb

Don't ever listen to trade rumours during the off season

All it is is bloggers trying to get hits for their websites

The only trustworthy news in the summer is contract talks, ever thing else is just noise

Am I misreading this or are you trying to call Jared Cowen poor defensively?

Not sure if the rumor is true. But Grabovski would help IMO.

Hemsky is obviously talented. Great hands, good wheels .... So what's the problem? Underachiever is a word that comes to mind. I personally would not carry his salary all year and would not rush to get him now. I see him as a late season acquisition if anything

If Murray had 4.5 million dollars laying around, I imagine they would have spent it already.

Yes, but with a team that is overloaded with centers, adding grabovski would not really make sense. If grabovski is added, I guarantee that somebody is getting traded.

Maybe grabovski signs here and the sens trade smith to the oilers for hemsky.

Can Grabo play wing?

If he can, I'm interested. But if not, then nvm.

Maybe melnyk is looking to loosen the purse strings to throw it back in Alfie's face. One could only wish!

I think Grabovski is one of the many players who would really take off in MacLean's system. But we are overloaded at C right now, so there is really no point in spending extra cash in that area.

Not saying we should do this! But hypothetically for a

Ryan Spezza Michalek - True #1 line
MacArthur Grabovski Hemsky - #2a Scoring line (sheltered defensive minutes)
Greening Turris Pageau/Zibanejad - 2b Scoring and 2-way line
Conacher Zibanejad/Pageau Neil/Condra
spare - one of above 13
Hoffman
Kassian

Traded: Smith (for Hemsky Edmonton eats some of his salary), Da Costa, O'Brien

Why this would be good: All the player's without "intangibles" or special skills are really natural scorers and can do well with SOME PP time (not 1st unit) and 13 min ES time. Sorta sheltered ES minutes they can score lots of goals on the ice with Karlsson, Wiercioch and Corvo. ie. MacArthur, Grabovski, Hemsky

You can role 4 lines with depth through several injuries, you never have a weak forward. Pageau and Zibanejad are nearly top 6 talents now, Turris centers a 2b line that will either shut down opponents top lines: (Greening Turris Condra or Zibanejad Turris Condra) or a 2b line that is fast and high octane offence that perhaps might face mismatches they can dominate and score lots of goals. Zibanejad Turris Pageau or Greening Turris Zibanejad or if Zibanejad or Pageau REALLY find a good chemistry with Turris they could for a duo and kill penalties and/or play the 2nd PP together.

I'd be thrilled but can't see it happening. If we got him, imo we'd be a decent contender.

Conacher - Spezza - Ryan
MacArthur- Grabovski - Michalek
Greening - Turris - Zibanejad
Smith - Pageau - Neil

I'd like a Grabovski signing. Just do not want more than a 2 year contract and im sure he wants a 5 year 5mil contract.

The last thing we need is another center. Grabo makes zero sense here no matter how good he would be in our system.

We don't need him.

I much rather go after Brunner or Brenden Morrow

Please tell me Brenden Morrow is a typo where you got all of the letters in the name wrong.

For the Flames, I can't see him fitting into Ottawa, we have Pageau, Conacher, Stone that are NHL ready and guys like Dizzy, Puempel, Prince, De Costa, Hoffman, Peterssen who could probably use a few games to keep them motivated.

I think our next move is at the deadline for a Vet - and a Guy like Legwand or Pavelski that can add that extra depth to the 2nd/3rd line.

Unless Murray wants to add Grabovski so he can trade some more young kids at the deadline for a big package, if he goes all in for a Thornton or Marleau or Bouwmeester then I could see him adding Grabovski.

I'm relieved that someone finally took on the issue of how the Sens really have no starting pitching to speak of.

I'd be ok with acquiring Grabovsky. The guy is a pretty good player, and he'll be itching to stick it to both the Leafs and the Habs.

He's a valuable a player with a ton of experience and he still has that hunger. He played hurt last season.

I still think we lack a bit of experience up front.
