Andy's new gear...

Craig Anderson ‏@CraigAnderson41 15h

First look at my new gear for this season. Got that #throwback look this year. Loving it! Big thanks to @goaliesonly pic.twitter.com/6Xy68sKaJX

Looking fancy. I wanna see the pad reduction!

Nice! Didn't know the NHL finally decided to decrease pad size.

Huh, it looks like it's curved in more at the thigh too.

Lol reminds me of the D. Martin standup, if you ever want to make someone sound un-important simply put "DJ" in front of his or her name....DJ Abraham Lincoln lol

Poor Ben Bishop. That glaring five hole is going to be very enticing to NHL shooters.

His 5-hole will remain the same. His boys will have a little less protection though...

At least this shouldn't affect Anderson.

In butterfly it absolutely will hurt him. That's where he often gets beat with softies as it is.

A puck isn't very big

You don't want to reduce the size too much in one go or else the goalies are all going to blow for the first half of the season or maybe even more

This is adequate

It's too bad that this should lead to more five hole goals, those are rather unspectacular most of the time (yeah, yeah Golden goal, 2010, w00t w00t)

Toews will be digging it.

But seriously, I think it might give the opposite effect. Goalies know that their five hole will be a little more exposed so maybe they go down early a bit more often? Could leave more room for some top corner snipes.

I have a feeling goalies will like the thigh rise reduction because it will increase mobility, just like a lot of them actually ended up liking the pad width reduction from 12 to 11 inches.

I guess, but life would suck if you bubble-boy'd it.

Guys are getting injured working out 'traditionally', golfing, doing most everything. It happens. Might as well have fun.

Playing soccer would be far from the most risky thing he would be doing.

Has a better chance of something going down while doing his DJ set at a local club than playing soccer.
