Yep, basically. I used to think this was the best show on TV but I've really come to dislike how many storylines keep getting recycled.

Further descent into General Hospital territory, I imagine.

I really like it, but man alive every episode is the same. Season 4 and 5 especially aside from a few big moments.

Season 3 was really the top of the game for this show.

Love the show but I agree here. Season 3 finale was the best one they had. Close second was the season 2 finale.

Barely remember season 4 and 5 finale. Killing Piney and Opie were band moves. A few good characters have come and gone. Zobel and Potter are the first 2 that come to mind.

Yeah, this one jumped the shark a while ago. I won't be partaking this season. Oh well. It had some fun moments....a few years ago.

The Opie Character had run its course. I think that's really the one character they handled correctly.

lmao. spot on.

I watched season 4 and made it halfway through season 5 before I lost interest. the first three were the best. may finish season 5 and start six but I just don't feel compelled to.

I'll be watching, looking forward to the return!

That said, agreed with comments on the show's predictability. This needs to be a HUGE season for them, to keep most fans interested.

That whole scenery from when Stahl tells the club what Jax did to the ending with John Teller reading the letters is amazing. By far my favorite season ending of my TV watching career.

As I mentioned before the ending of season 2 is the clear second with the baby kidnapping.

season 1 was ok, 4 and 5 were blah. 5 was the worst.

I hope this season Jax just mans the **** up and chooses Tara over his mother and stops being manipulated by her.

Wait, manipulated by who?

They're both playing him like a fiddle, IMO, and this season I think we're going to see Tara emerge as a darker character.

I'm excited despite it's declining quality. Frankly I don't get why so many of you trash it and continue to watch it or why some of you come in here just to trash it and say you're not gonna watch it.

Maybe it's just my love for the show, but I think topics for television shows should be about people enjoying the show and looking forward to it. I don't go into, say, Who Dun It? or Favorite Simpsons Moments topics (two shows I really don't and have never enjoyed) and just go in to say "shows followed this formula, show has been declining, may or may not watch it, etc.".

What? So because we don't think the last few seasons are "flawless", we are not allowed to talk about the show in a public thread, on a public forum? Oy ****ing vey.

Or because we see flaws in the (repetitive) formula, we don't enjoy it and therefore shouldn't be allowed to talk about it? Hyperbole much?

Point out any one point where I said flawless or even said anything about the quality of the show. I'll be waiting. I even said "declining quality" right at the start of the post.

I'm just saying it seems like people go out of their way to whine about stuff on here sometimes and, for the people actually looking forward to the show, it's a bit annoying when it's half the topic. It's also odd that someone could be so highly critical and disappointed with the show yet still be watching it.

I think so too, his story was over for all intents and purposes. He really didn't have anything left that served this story, and his death served Jaxs arc.

That being said, I guess the writers/sutter just love Ron Perlman, because the end of S4 really should have been the end of the character. It hurt the quality of the narrative by keeping him alive with a paper thin reason. Obviously, it probably helps in terms of fan fare/name recognition that he is still on the show.

You should know that the Entertainment board is full of Television and Movie snobs. A lot of people cant enjoy something for what it is and instead say 'Oh that was such a poor plot device', 'Pacific Rim had no character development' (like thats what the movie was made for....). Don't get all bent out of shape over it. Enjoy the show.

I was hoping Perlman would die off since it was the most appropriate course of action.
