Not really looking forward to seeing how Clay will get out of the situation he is in for the next 2 seasons to probably see him getting killed at the end.
how would that be considered jumping the shark?

I mean it looks like Jax is going to use that incident to try and get the sons out of the gun business for good.

I kinda had an inkling the kid would do something crazy, i thought maybe the kid was going to commit suicide at first but then i was like, oh man, they're going there.

Pretty weak episode. 90 minutes was just too long for the stories they wanted to tell, so we were left with a bunch of lame montages of people looking pensive. We didn't need ten scenes with Jax and the madam to know that he was going to tap that. And, while she's a nice addition to the show, her dialogue was BRUTAL ("I listen almost as well as I SD! Cleaning helps my Chi WINK WINK"). The setup to the school shooting was pretty cliche and uncreative, too; they basically just played the "Jeremy" music video. Tig singing "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" might be low point of the entire series.

I dunno. It didn't really feel like Sons of Anarchy to me.
Agreed. I felt very ambivalent at the end. A lot of the plotlines from last night have been done before and I just don't care anymore, and the others felt thrown in there for the shock value. It felt very disjointed and not very organic to what the show has been in the past.

God damn it I love this show.

I love when the pretty ***** gets her faced smashed by Gemma. Not the first time if I remember correctly .

Best part was Tig pissing on the guy. This ep to me was on par with what I've been watching the past few seasons, so I'm not let down. I'm also no longer very excited each week though.

Nice to see Sutter dipping into the Deadwood well once more. Hopefully Joanie Stubbs and Charlie Utter have a reunion.

So, just to be clear, this is Unser's 5th season with terminal cancer, right?

Or was he diagnosed the first season?

I'm just glad the show is back so I'll forgive the confusing first episode.....would like to see how that school shooting ties in, though.

The gun the kid used was from a batch SAMCRO sold/gave to Nero's crew (from what they showed in the recap at the beginning of the episode). I'm thinking that will have huge ramifications moving forward.

When Jax and the kid had the little exchange midway through the episode, I thought maybe they were bringing back the "guardian angel" that was used sparingly in the first few seasons. Like a "junior jax" or something.

With the addition of Kim Dickens, there has been a rather large number of Deadwood alumni on this show.

Dayton Callie
Titus Welliver
Paula Malcomson
Ray McKinnon
Robin Weigert
Kim Dickens

Also a good number of former shield actors

CCH Pounder(we see her coming up this season)
Kenneth Johnson
David Rees Snell
Jay Karnes

Would be hilarious if somehow Michael Chiklis is in this or next season

My initial feeling with this episode in the first 20 minutes was it sucks. I don't get how an obviously drug addicted former us marshal has so much pull in where clay, otto and tara all stay in Jail.

Typical Jax........he misunderstands tara so he ****s around. I don't get why Tara punched her cell mate at the end I'm guessing we will find out. Episode needed more Bobby and less Nero.

School shooting really didn't effect me.

I liked when Tig killed that guy. He deserved it, I just wonder if Tig will face ramifications later on.

Didn't she steal Tara's blanket? Tara had to show her that she wasn't going to be an easy target.

Power play. The chick bullied her earlier (took her blanket) so Tara took action and showed her fellow inmates that they better don't mess with her.

I thought the girl stealing the blanket was white and the attacked girl was black. As LS says, I interpreted it as a power play, showing that she can be "hard".

I watched it online and it came in at 63min. I guess there's commercials on FX?

I agree with the rest of it though. The show is definitely taking a step back, imo.

If you haven't seen the episode...don't read. Kurt Sutter gives a break down on the episode.
