Lars Eller's status

Hi guys, Flames fan come in peace. Sorry for creating a thread, but I could find somewhere to ask about Lars Eller's concussion status. Is he good to go for next season? He's still around in our fantasy draft and I can't figure out why. Seems too good to be true.

He was actually considered "probable" for round 2, so...

I also think he was considered 'probably' for round two, and I believe someone from Denmark or thereabouts recently linked an article stating that he was working out like a beast as usual, looking to come into camp even stronger. So everything looks fine.

I thought I remembered that, yeah, but I'm really just looking for hard confirmation that he's good to go for the season. The playoffs can make things like proper recovery and rehabilitation seem pretty unimportant.

it's weird that there's been nothing concrete, at least that i've seen.

No news is good news?

Last report from the Gazette was that he should be good to go this coming season. His injuries were not as bad as it first appeared.

This is the same player who will go in the corner and get thrown around by Chara only to go in, try again and win the battle.

He has no quit and I believe this will make him a better player.

Can't find the article, but Danish media has reported he is up and ready for fight.

Eller is not a quitter, he comes from a pretty tough family both mentally and physically.

He has been updating about his training programs on Twitter all through June, so it also looks like he is just fine

"New program from @gaudreau_jf and more supplements from http://ATP-lab.com coming up. #TheBest"

Lars Eller -

From June

Looks like Eller has really gained muscle from June too July - Once again sporting his potbelly

I'm hoping Eller forces MT and MB to trade DD in out performing him.
DD's contract length is what i dont like so im hoping he trades him for picks or wtv

Eller's english is quite impressive. I was aware he was comfortable with it, but cheeeez, he sounds like he's been speaking it for 30 years

Those Scandinavians are all generally good at English.

I think Eller has a killer work ethic. He always comes into camp fired up from the offseason, I hope he can finally put everything together and become the 2nd line center that we need, he definitely has the tools (and the hockey IQ) to do it.

Thanks to the OP for a relevant question.

In related news, how's Emelin progressing?

Do you guys really find he looks that much bigger than last year's yoga picture? Maybe I'm not quite as experienced in comparing the male physique as you guys

English, Swedish, Danish, Norwegean, they are pretty much all the same language. Finnish on the other hand is from a completely different branch of languages. That's why the Finns generally speak with an accent.

lol well Danish is not a special language but it's certainly different from English.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_language#History
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_language#History

In general you might say that while they both originate in Germanic (proto-Germanic), English has had much more influence from Latin and French since the Norman conquest than Danish. The two languages also split prior to the migrations following the Roman conquest as English belongs to a West Germanic language group and Danish to a North Germanic language group.

One of the most obvious differences is how the two languages handle the definite article. In English it's ofc the house, the cat etc. but in Danish it's huset, katten.
Danish also has 2 grammatical genders, common and neuter, and there is no rule to help remember the gender of a certain noun. There are guidelines but loads of exceptions which is also why, apart from a usually heavy accent, that it's easy for a Dane to tell if a person is a foreigner or not because they get the definite article wrong.

On the other hand a number of words are shared or are very similar between the two languages. One of the most prominent examples I've heard is that the English word 'skull' is derived from the Danish word 'skål' meaning 'bowl'.
Back when the Vikings settled in England they would of course have massive victory celebrations after a battle and they would use the skulls of their foes to drink their mead and beer. When someone wanted to propose a toast they would yell Skål and raise the skull which is why I suppose the slight mix up in the translation has occured.

The Minnesota Vikings of the NFL has a 'Skol Vikings' song they play at their games.

In terms of languages being special, the only small group I can think of is Finnish, Estonian and Hungarian which are all related but markedly different from anything else spoken in Europe.
