I'm going to go out a limb a bit and say Colorado. Wouldn't be surprised by Nashville either.

I'd take Dallas or Colorado before Minnesota... prolly Dallas here though.

When in doubt, vote for the team with Rich Peverley

The Central looks pretty stacked though, all these teams could be pretty good

From here on, it's a crapshoot. IMO, the Avs will shock people and finish 4th, but both wild card spots will be in the Pacific. Injuries will play a huge role. None of the rest of the teams are "complete" enough to withstand too many injuries. The team that is luckiest with injuries will probably finish 4th, the unluckiest, 7th.

I didn't think the Avs had a shot at top 3, but I think top 4 is incredibly realistic and even likely

Remember, this is a team that made the playoffs in Matt Duchene's rookie year thanks to their offensive firepower and goaltending that season. Adding MacKinnon to the fuel, having Barrie hitting his stride, and the addition by subtraction by getting rid of liabilities in Zanon (so slow he single-handedly allowed dozens of goals) and O'Brien (party boy Las Vegas) and our team is definitely better on paper.

My money? Goaltending. If Varlamov continues to grow, then he can mask the defensive inefficiencies in a similar way that Anderson did the year Andy helped lead the Avs to the playoffs. If not, expect Dallas, Nashville and/or Winnipeg to finish with a better record

Still a bad defense, but we're competing with Dallas, Winnipeg, and Nashville here. Not exactly wide gaps between these teams so you could make a case for any of the teams

I'm not surprised that Dallas is winning this but can someone tell me why they like Dallas more than Colorado or Nashville or Minnesota?

I don't mean to insult Stars fans, I just don't see it.

Went Nashville. I've learned to never underrate them. Weber, Josi, Rinne and Trotz can do some magical things. Plus, their offense isn't great, but Wilson, Smith, Legwand, Stalberg, Fisher, Cullen, Hornqvist, etc. can keep them competitive.

Dallas could have a chance here, but I want to see how their team gels before I hype them.

Good goaltending, which Minny doesn't have and is better than Colorado's. Balanced offense that should be superior to Minny's and both have huge prospects that may pan out better than one of the club's, I'm banking on Stars here. Defensively both are weak, Minny has the edge but it's not big enough for this poll once you factor in coaching. Ruff >>> Yeo.

Minny looked bad last season for a "playoff" team imho, not a whole lot on their team has changed to make me think a full season will do them any better.

Nashville

Their goaltending and defense will more than make up for their lacklustre forwards.

Surprised a lot of people are gonig with Colorado, I like their offense a lot but that D is putrid(no offense Avs fans) and goaltending isnt great either, solid but not on Rinne or Lehtonen's level

Voted Jets, but I think it could easily be any of those teams.

Nashville. Goaltending is the first place I look when deciding between what appear to be fairly even teams.

I think the 'Peg is going to surprise a lot of folks.

Avs defense is putrid. The Preds offense is putrid. Dallas is 'meh' all across the roster.

The Jets easily look like the most well-rounded club of those remaining.

Colorado. They are a team on the rise. Likewise, I don't think Dallas will finish as high as some expect.

This is where the real crap shoot begins...went with Dallas because of a more rounded lineup with solid goaltending.

He's certainly not one of the better goalies in the division, that's for sure. Rinne, Lehtonen, Varlamov are better and Halak/Elliot will perform better in STL's system, Crawford will likely perform better and Pavelec is a wildcard.

Everything is relative and in our division Backstrom is a weakness.
