Went with Ferland again. He's definitely in the top 20 of our prospects. I'll be puzzled if he's not voted in there. There's much more to hockey than just scoring and brings what opposing teams hate.

Still going Kanzig. I like Ferland, Bouma and Ortio as well, but Kanzig as I've said in past threads still has the highest ceiling left imo.

Bouma should be rated a lot higher if you still consider him a prospect.

I also think John Ramage is being forgotten a little bit here.

toss up between Billins and Ramage, picked Billins because he has shown something at the pro level.

Ortio again. He's got higher ceiling than Bouma or Breen.

Went with Nemisz, actually surprised him and Ortio will be outside the top 20, though I do agree with the Bouma votes.

Actually wow, looking at this list really makes me happy, we got guys like Kulak, Culkin, DeBlouw, Ramage, Bouma, Ferland, Nemisz, Ortio, Kanzig, and more still available, and they're going to be outside of the top 20, that speaks wonders to our depth now.

My problem with Ferland is similar to Ryan Howse. Fitness is an issue. The team has mentioned as such, and I know from talking to guys in the WHL that he has a rough reputation for not trying to "be a good pro."

But if he can get it together, he could be more valuable to us then some guys in the top 10.

This is why I feel he needs to be in the top 20.

Oh f@ck, is my opinion wrong again? Is it not to your standards? Is there a problem with my pick? Why is this an open poll? Should it not be just opened to you because you are the only one who's opinion counts and is always right?

I think people are looking for you to justify the pick, as its a bit of a head-scratcher.

It's not that far off, he was the best amateur tryout player and he got signed. It's not that far off to believe that he's could be half-decent depth at this point in the rankings for an unknown player.

Speaking of which, I'm not sure if Calgary's prospect pool is deep enough to rank reliably to 25. 20 is good, but 25 seems like a stretch.

Not THE fanblogger?

I went with Bouma as well - he is one of those lunchpail kind of guys who win you championships with their intangibles. Might even have a letter on his sweater one day.
