You must've mistaken Murzyn with an NHL d-man cause I remember him as slow and craptacular at playing d. Sure he was physical, but man was he bad at defense (at least with the Canucks). He's the reason the Canucks managed to go to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals in 94. Had he not been injured, he would've actually played for the Nucks in the 94 playoffs and that pretty much guaranteed that the Nucks wouldn't get past the Flames in the first round that year.

He scored 3+5 in 183 games. drafted 18 overall
Every Nucks and Pens fans from the WCE days should remember this guy. He's the guy responsible for Naslund and the West Coast Express to happened. Nucks absolutely stole Naslund from the Pengs by giving them this guy.

I think every NW division fan knows about Parker and anyone who follows fighting in the NHL at all should know about him.

I know a lot of these guys as well.

Radovan Somik -- got his butt kicked by Chris Neil in the 419 PIM game
Jason Krog -- played for the Ducks in 03 Cup run
Jaroslav Bednar -- played for Florida
Shawn Antoski -- isn't he a known fighter
Rico Fata -- played with the Pens
Steve Poapst -- Blackhawks
Doig -- Caps
Kloucek -- Rangers??
Sven Butenschoen -- forget his team, not his name though
Garth Murray -- Rangers
Clarke Wilm -- Toronto
Francis Lessard -- signed with the Phantoms
Mike Leighton -- rather forget him
Jimmie Olvestad -- Florida??
Pasi Nurminen -- goalie for Thrashers
Petteri Nummelin -- know the name
Lubomir Sekeras -- defenseman for the Wild
Ric Jackman -- played for the Isles, defense?
Dmitry Afanasenkov -- won a Cup with Bolts, played for Flyers
Pascal Trepanier -- played on an expansion team?
Stacy Roest -- played for Detroit
Marty Murray 261 -- played for the Flyers in early's 00
Steve Webb 321 gp 18 pts -- brawler for Isles
Christian Laflamme -- Blues
Pavel Trnka -- Florida
Radoslav Suchy -- Coyotes defenseman
Todd Warriner -- Thrashers, Flyers, Leafs
Ian Moran -- Pens
Kent Manderville -- Flyers, Pens
Tony Hrkac -- won a Cup, last played with the Thrashers
Marcel Hossa -- Marian's brother, Habs
Joe Reekie -- Caps
Branislav Mezei -- Florida
Mathias Timander -- plays for Modo now, played for CBJ, NYI, PHI
He was a good d-man for us in the 2004 to ECFs
Also with Timander in the Sens-Flyers brawl, if you look for it, he is getting killed by Chara and asking for help from the refs..

Starts at :15 in for Timander

That was a different guy who played 100+ games and no one may have heard of, Alek Stojanov. He made Antoski look like Cam Neely.

All part of Craig Patrick's obsession with acquiring another power forward in the mold of Kevin Stevens.

Awards:
Nolan Pratt may be the most anonymous NHLer to come within sniffing distance of 600 games.

Karalahti might be less anonymous than some of these guys because of his off ice issues.

Just surfed wiki until I found someone with 100+ games... found Kevin Dahl.

He played for the Olympic team in 1992 though... so he might be semi-known, I have no idea. I never realized that Khabibulin was on the gold medal winning team but he wasn't allowed to have his medal, man those Russians are cold!

I know pretty much all of these players listed in this thread, only because I have a huge collection of hockeycards from when I was younger and because I used to play a lot of hockeygames on the computer/sega/playstation. I could probably tell which team(s) and about which year they were in the league but not much about how they were as players, which I guess is how it is for most people that recognize these names.

Many of these players have also made names for themselves in European leagues so it's a bit easier for us Europeans to know about them.

Basically just look at the Caps roster in 2003-04. So many nobodies.
People don't remember Kiwi? I remember Stephen Peat fondly as Donald Brashear's personal punching bag.

That's because Viktor Tikhonov stole it; coaches aren't entitled to medals, but Tikhonov thought he should have one and helped himself to Khabibulin's.

Whoops! My bad. Although I remember these guys' names, I don't remember the players that well. They are basically the same types of players that don't amount to anything and easily forgettable I guess.
