The Red Wings have a lot of smaller skilled finesse forwards on the team and in the system, they need a big physical net front presence that can contribute on the top 6.
Would you do it?
I like Nyquist a lot but I would.
I bet he scores more than Nyquist next year and he is a big strong physical guy who really gets under the opponents skin and unlike anyone on the current Wings (except Franzen but I think he is too beat up to relish that role anymore)roster knows how to be a net front presence and excels at tipping in shots and smacking home rebounds.
We just have a lot of what Nyquist brings to the table and none of what Panik brings.
I would go Nyquist and a 2nd (or another prospect for him) but I don't know if Stevie would deal him to us now that we're in the same division.
I could do it. Panik was a real pain in the ass during the AHL-finals.
I just can't see Yzerman doing this trade. He has the same playmaking winger in Palat, he won't need another in Nyquist. And they have also Drouin.
I know I think that's the problem too but I would sweeten up the pie with an extra pick or prospect or maybe if he's interested (doubtful) in anyone of the surplus forwards we have. I think Tyler Johnson is better than Palat but Nyquist will probably have a bigger impact than either of them.
