Indeed. He probably wishes that the NHL used international ice. Or maybe he just Loves USA so much that's why he's on another level when he plays with them, dunno...

He's also not playing with wingers like David Jones or Chuck Kobasew.

Seeeeexy. Maybe the best lineup I've seen on here. Not enough Minnesotans though.

I will admit, it has been my secret dream to see a line of Ryan-Pavelski-Kane. Especially now that I can like Ryan again since he's no longer a duck.

I might die a little bit inside if that happened... and it's not completely far-fetched i hope think.

Watching Bogosian start another season injured in some way or another, makes me think his slim shot is out.

Seeing a lot of Wheeler underrating in this thread. I'd say he cracks the 2nd-3rd line.

Not a WPG homer, I just see huge potential with his skating ability on the bigger ice.

Galchenyuk and Saad both have four points in their first two games.

I'll be shocked if Alex Galchenyuk doesn't make the team.

With the expanded rosters, I think there's a chance both make it-especially Galchenyuk. The U.S. lacks creativity up the middle and he would look great with a couple of our scoring wingers. I'm also dubious as to what kind of start Stepan is going to have. The situation in New York doesn't bode well for a lot of players IMO.

I think Saad needs a monster year to make the team. His problem is that playing style wise, we have a lot of players in his mold. As you mentioned, and we all know, Galchenyuk brings a rare breed to the US team and I'd agree with above, I'll be surprised somewhat if he doesn't make it.

Trying to watch more of our guys this year. After watching Winnipeg last night, I don't see why Byfuglien would be left out. The dude gets in the way of so much defensively and his offensive game is outstanding. I know the ice is bigger but I think he should be there. Wheeler also impressed me and I think he should get a long look. Bogosian, worst turnover I've seen. Quick judgment but no thanks.

Really excited as I think I'm going as I'll be in Bulgaria however would've loved to see my boy Torey Krug there. Not enough experience this time around. Next time look out.

So yeah, Galchenyuk is flying past Stepan, whose really doing his best to tank his candidacy right now.

Justin Faulk has also been good to start the year.

Galchenyuk and Faulk have to be in at this point, there's plenty of season left but I don't see them slowing down.

Some tough choices to be made.......Here's my current guess:

Goaltenders (x3):

Quick
Miller
Howard

Defensemen (x8):

Suter-Yandle
Shattenkirk-McDonagh
Jack Johnson-Erik Johnson
Byfuglien-Faulk

Forwards (x14):

JVR-Stastny-Kessel
Kane-Kesler-Parise
Brown-Galchenyuk-Ryan
Callahan-Backes-Oshie
Pavelski-Pacioretty

Gotta think anyone who doesn't have Faulk making the team just hasn't watched him play. He's playing top pairing match ups beside Andrej Sekera averaging 25 TOI. +1, four assists in four games played seeing top pk minutes and second unit powerplay. Obviously this is a small sample size but his play is consistent with last season's progression & the argument will only strengthen over time.

Putting a 21 year old in this #1 D position is a testament to the Hurricanes' mismanagement of defense for the past decade but Faulk looks to be the best top guy we've had since our cup run. His game is still rough around the edges, mainly the rawness of his offense, but the talent is already overwhelming.

Nice bounce back for Stepan, even if the Rangers really are terrible.

With the minutes Seth Jones is logging in Nashville, does he have a chance to make the team?
