In the MLS soccer, we have a culture of "supporters" groups traveling down to the Seattle and Portland games and if we get either one or both, we could even see it develop here, organically via the existing Canucks fan base or even the team officially creating and endorsing a traveling "Supporters Group" to cheer on the team.
Canadians will definitely come down for NHL games in Seattle. Look at the M's game last night. Monday night game with 2 sub .500 clubs and they drew 32k and from the sounds of things it was a pretty pro-Jays crowd.

meh

Brutalist architecture.

The new design reminds me of a few high schools built in the 60's in Calgary. Very ugly.

It makes sense for seattle and this current design is based on feedback

Oh and FYI for those wondering in regarding how the mayoral election is going to affect the arena. The anti-arena candidate is dead 3rd almost 4th in primary.

If you scroll down we get to see what the inside of the arena outside of the seats and rink/court design looks like. I don't recall we got something that specific before

I'm guessing the players may enter from two different corners of the rink/court based on where the home and away locker rooms are.

Yep - I like the schemes that they've presented here.

Although they could play just about anywhere (please no Tacoma Dome) and I'd be happy. I'm tired of giving money to the Kroenkes when they have proven that they're just going to give it to the Nuggets.

Don't worry about the Tacoma dome. NHL team will play at Key for at least a couple seasons then move to the new arena.

Of course this assuming changes to the MOU happen which last i heard its being talked about.

I don't think the Tacoma Dome has an ice plant anymore so it isn't really an option.

The November election is now a moot point the anti-arena candidate has conceded.

I only mentioned the Tacoma Dome as a lark - and a Thunderbird supporter (and Tacoma Rocket hater ), although it is closer to my parents' house than anything in Seattle.

I did tear my ACL at the Tacoma Dome, though, in an attempt to tackle Lawyer Milloy. Punters shouldn't tackle.

Maybe I really do hate the Tacoma Dome. At least the town smells better these days.

It still needs to complete its evrionmental review, survive the stupid lawsuits, get modified to allow hockey first and get a NHL team.

If not modified then wait till NBA decides to act like grown ups and give us a NBA team.

in terms of shovel-in-the-ground, 2015 is realistically the earliest we'll see.

Could come sooner depending on if the MOU is changed to allow hockey first and NHL expands to seattle soon after that.

Okay but what date do you expects that these things will be done?

A team needs to be guaranteed first with everything else GS has said before dates can even remotely be estimated.
