1st and 3rd were obvious Machida, 2nd was a waste of time.

The combo in the first by Machida should of meant a whole lot more than the takedown which amounted to nothing.

It's not because you take someone down with a minute left in the round and barely do any damage in the GnP that you won the round.

Sitting back? it's called counter fighting, Machida was the only one landing clean strikes, everything Davis threw was either hitting air or blocked, a couple of takedowns at the end of the round with a few ok gnp shots should not steal a round.

Yeah.

You can argue the decision, but Davis was more aggressive the entire fight and that helps in close rounds. Similar to how Machida lost against Rampage. That style is going to burn you sometimes.

Davis had one takedown late in both round 1 and 2, but did next to nothing for the rest of the rounds and did nothing with his takedowns. Machida defended all his other takedown bids and was tagging him numerous times each round. Ridiculous decision.

It is when you never initiate exchanges. That's basically what the decision came down to. One fighter going forward, throwing, and another one always backing up (and getting taken down twice).

I dont get how some of you are saying Davis was more aggressive this fight. Sure in the 3rd he was active on his takedown attempts but none of them amounted to anything. Machida landed the significant strikes in every round.

It's the age-old argument with Machida, sitting back or counter fighting? It's both.

Davis' body shots at the end of round 2 were probably the best either guy had in the fight.

Hey, I had Machida winning too. But I'll never be upset when the more aggressive fighter squeaks by in these close fights.

More aggressive as in going forward and pushing the fight. I don't really think this is debatable, Machida's style is to counter and not be aggressive until he feels he can do damage.

Great entrance song for Jung. I think Aldo will be too good but one quick strike by KZ and who knows.

Disagree they were ok, some were partially blocked, Machida landed some really good body kicks and clean punches, Machida didn't throw a lot but he was accurate when he did he throw.

Ehh. Davis blocked much of what Machida threw too. Not much clean landed at all in the fight.

MMA judges idea of agressive just means moving forward, even though that is exactly what Machida want. Sure Phil moved forward but he was still hesitant to throw for the first two rounds as well.

Weird fight. Aldo doesn't look as comfortable on his feet as he usually does. Would like to see him try some combos and exploit Jung's left eye and likely lack of peripheral vision.
