Wow, Aldo's foot looks nasty! Definitely looks like a break with that amount of swelling. Explains why he looked off and makes you wonder if Zombie could've made the fight even more interesting in the 4th and 5th if he didn't get injured.

Sonnen is planning on dropping down after the fight. But he's already 36 and would need at least 2 MW victories before another title shot.

Lil' Nog/Davis fought not all too long ago so I'm not sure if that's a fight to make at this point. Although looking at the LHW picture, there aren't a whole lot of fights that make sense for Phil, so maybe a re-match against Lil' Nog or evan Rashad could be in store? I think if Gus loses to Jones than a Machida/Gus fight makes a lot of sense. Who knows, if Glover doesn't convincingly beat Bader maybe Jones takes a fight at HW next and we see Glover/Davis for #1 contender? Jones has talked in the past about taking a "fun" fight at HW before actually moving up full-time. There's also DC who will be in the mix after his fight with Big Country.

Oh my... I forgot they already fought. And no rematch. I just couldnt think of fights for that division.

Regardless, the matchups they created made that divison a cluster faulk. Stupid Dana and his obsession with Chael.

I believe Jones recently said he changed his mind and would like to stay at LHW for a while.

I don't see anything wrong with a 29-28 Davis decision.

I love Zombie. Sad to see him lose, but Aldo is incredible.

as much as i dont like for numerous reasons i think you gotta move on. davis won the fight and as bad as the decision is under current scoring its legitamite. davis should move closer towards a title fight. if you think its a bad win you have to hope his next opponent takes him out.

Aldo is a monster, plain and simple. The zombie didn't have much of a chance going into this fight imho. There is no way he would have been able to take down aldo and submit him. the shoulder was an unfortunate way for the fight to end... never good to see someone lose by circumstance rather then skill.

as for the davis fight, he didn't technically deserve to win; at least not unanimously but he did... was a tough fight for me to choose because I like both fighters. Hopefully machida finally learns that he needs to be much more aggressive from the get go, no more sitting back.

I think this makes some sense, particularly with the current landscape at 205. Machida was the #1 contender, and barely lost a fight most felt he won. Who makes sense for him next? Gotta be a top 5 guy (but likely not Rashad, Hendo, or Shogun). Then Phil also deserves a top 5 guy (but not Lil Nog, and likely not Gus). The best options seem to be each other. You make it a number one contender fight and I could see Phil agreeing to it, otherwise it doesn't really get him anywhere. My guess is he'd prefer Rashad.

I hope the zombie gets a crack at the title again when aldo eventually has non choice but to move to 55. Zombie vs Edgar for the vacant title at that point.

I really don't understand the controversy with Davis/machida fight. It was a close bout between two of the best in the division, could have went either way and Phil had a smart and strong performance.

I was rooting for the dragon but Davis was actually able to land a few tds on him, which is pretty rare, he out struck him while losing the significant strikes department. I think you are being a Homer putting this one under then controversial category. Close yes.

It's time for the dragon to make his move to mw and make a run.

Of course he does. The only person that doesn't want a rematch against an opponent that beat him is... oh wait, that was Machida, wasn't it?

Not fair to Phil. He shouldn't be 'held back' because of Lyoto's inability to get the decision.

So, Aldo broke his foot in the first round and had to change his tactics to compensate. KZ dislocated his shoulder and tried to throw it back in to keep going but was set upon by Aldo and couldn't defend himself.

Don't tell me these guys aren't tough as nails. That is insane.

Finally got around to watching this.

I thought Machida won the 1st and 3rd rounds but it wasn't a robbery like some are making it out to be. If Machida was more aggressive instead of leaning back all the time and trying to be "elusive", it probably would have been an easy win for him. I thought Hendo beat him in his last fight because he was a lot more aggressive and landed twice as many strikes but they gave Machida the decision. I guess it evens out in the end. Seems like we have this discussion every time Machida fights.
