After an initial slash, prices will go back up. Prices always go up.

I think they'll stay the same for a couple years to help bring fans back, but they'll always go up and no one should expect them to go down much.

One thing I'd like to see is the prices on better seats go up, while the prices of the nosebleeds go down to get more bodies in to see the games. I went up to Toronto a couple weekends ago and went to see a BlueJays game for $6 CDN up in the cheap seats. It wasn't the most amazing thing ever, but it was really neat to be able to go to a professional sports game for less than it costs to get a meal at a fast food place. I'm pulling figures out of thin air, but if I remember correctly, the lowest 300-level seats for a Sabres game is around $20-22. It might not seem like much for alot of you, but as a poor 20 year old, it's a bit difficult to get out to many Sabres games when I'm in Buffalo. You figure $20 for the tickets, $8 or so for parking, and at least $5 for a soda (only if I ration it throughout the whole game, heh), and we're talking about a $40 night even with making some sacrifices. If they could make it $10-12, I don't think they'd necessarily make any more money on the tickets, but you'd bring more fans in, which means more concessions + merchandise sales, and also a bigger fan base can never be a bad thing, right?
