The funniest thing was the blurb afterwards where he said "had Doug started we likely win that game." REALLY? That was the best game Johnson ever played and if you played that game 10 times he'd be lucky to repeat or outperform that performance once.
Benching Flutie for Johnson was allegedly Ralph's decision, not Wade's

The paywall at the Buffalo News website is tragically funny - you read 10 articles, the paywall sadly informs you that your free ride is over, you dump your browser cookies and voila, you're back on the bus for free. Geniuses, masters of web technology whomever is running their web operation.

The Boston Globe sold for 70 million dollars by the New York Times who had bought it for 1.1 billion in 1993. The legendary Washington Post sold for 225 million. And they're overvalued, 10 years from now they will be worth chump change most likely.

Video killed the radio star, Internet will kill everything eventually.

My hometown paper does the same, they all seem to now. You figure someone would get smart and figure away around the cookie dumping.

Only thing that sucks about dumping your cookies is it signs you out of everything you haven't signed yourself out of

I think TJ started some games last year.

Despite the inexperience, I think this group of receivers is one of the strengths of the team.

Brad Smith

TJ Graham

Marcus Easley had earned the starting spot opposite SJ but his heart thing came up.

Smith will get cut...I HOPE.

I guess I just wonder is there that much of a difference between starting and playing for a WR? They all generally play within a given game

It certainly looks that way in training camp. I've never been this excited for our receiving core before. We probably have the fastest unit in the NFL. Perhaps the fastest offense, too. I can't wait to watch them play in a real game.

Doubtful. They just re-constructed his contract a few weeks ago. I think he's looked upon as one of the leaders of this team, and with our youth at receiving...I'm not opposed to having him around for another year or two.

Edit:

Jut an observation I had last week when I attended camp:
Marrone likes to have both Freddy and CJ on the field in shotgun formation. I saw it a lot on Wed. Not sure if they were just practicing that formation for the day or if he'll use it a lot during the season.

That is actually rather smart, I assume he used it without a TE in the formation? You then have 2 backs who are a threat to run, take a screen or stay in for pass protection. Which in the west coast can allow for many "texas" plays up the middle and a way of controlling how the defensive linebackers will play in coverage and open the middle of the field for many medium routes.

Haven't been this excited for a pre-season game in um........forever

Crossing my fingers that for once the Bills got it right with the Manuel pick and the rest of the NFL know it alls got it wrong.

Something good/lucky has to happen eventually, this needs to be it. If Manuel can't cut it then we go back and draft another QB in April. No point in even being in the NFL without a legit QB.

My oh my, our corners are going to get shredded today. Already not a great unit, no McKelvin, Gilmore not expected to play much, and some depth players out too. Yikes.

Correct. It was CJ and FJax in the backfield, Graham and Woods on the outside, Stevie in the slot before he got hurt. Goodwin replaced Woods on the outside and Woods slid to the slot after the injury.

Ummm preseason? No ones starters are gonna play much. Besides it's not like having McKelvin makes us better.

I see them keeping Smith....he redid his contract.

He still is a jack of all trades that does have value.

He does special teams as a returner or a gunner

He can be an emergency QB

He can operate as a WR/TE

He can be used in some play design.

-----Looks like NFL network is getting the Colts feed.

That has the potential to be a very explosive formation for them. How do you defend that with LB's potentially being responsible to cover 2 good backs for pass or runs as well as speed that can take advantage of no coverage up the middle?

Searcy misses a tackle and then Brooks forces a fumble and Bills ball.

Williams seems much better suited for safety. Nice hit
