I saw either what I expected from some players or some good improvements. Overall, happy so far with what they've shown in a game setting.

Manual got better as he went on, which is great.
Alonso looked great
Goodwin is... holy cow.

The one thing that really stood out on the 2 minute drive was Manuel's poise. He knew the situation, knew the clock, and checked the ball down to keep moving the chains. The one time he got pressured he got out of the pocket and threw it away.

I almost wish the drive had stalled though at the 35 yard line so we could see Hopkins try a nice long FG.

I've been hearing good things about Tuel. Nice drive by him.

Easley needs to have a monster preseason to make the team. So far so good.

I wonder if they're gonna consider keeping 3 QBs on the roster and keeping Tuel, or if he gets sent to the practice squad. With Kolb's injury history, keeping Tuel might not be a bad idea.

And Easley is doing a helluva job.

Easley 7 catches for 94 yards in the 3rd quarter haha. I feel like this offense could put up 30 a game very easily.

Pettine practicing his blitzes in the 2nd half, was pretty vanilla the first half. They are really attacking the rookie QB

I know it's against 2nd and 3rd stringers, but Tuel is looking great.

Tuel: 19/23, 212yds, 2td, 0int

I realize it's preaseaon, but damn that's impressive. This short pass, quick pace offense seems to suit Tuel well. I wonder if Kolb is worried.

I don't see how they don't keep 3 QB's on the roster. I think you need Kolb on the team for that veteran presence, but Tuel is making it impossible for the Bills to cut him.

They likely keep 3 QBs...they are too important. Kolb has valued experience in this league.

Post game is in mid-season form already. Was EJ impressive for a NFL QB, not really. Was he impressive for a rookie, well considering that I was hoping for around 60% completion and no picks, ya I was impressed. Especially when he had the presence of mind to throw balls away during that last drive. For a first rnd pick that was a better showing than I had hoped for. TBH I expected that first drive was going to last until week 8, it still may but I've at least seen something I can hang my hat on till Friday's game.

So let me get this straight.... You would have preferred our rookie 1st round QB would have failed in leading a TD drive so you could watch a kicker kick a field goal?

No offense, but that's dumb.

It's not like Manuel's drive against third and fourth stringers was that meaningful, tbf.

So anyone want to do a better job explaining to me what happened than the commentators did? I only got the recap and it sucked, quite...

I am impressed with the work of some of the D and Manuel.

Things that mattered, in my opinion:

Spiller was Spiller, that fumble was on Manuel.

Despite not doing much against quality defenders, Manuel didn't turn the ball over, which mean he's doing what the coaches want for now. It's a good thing.

Defense looked decent against the first team, but recovered from gaffes with "lucky" plays by Brooks and Alonzo. Further, Alonzo looked good, as did Lawson.

Goodwin looks like the real deal on ST, Hopkins as well.

The young receivers were catching everything.

This can't be stressed enough. If the receivers can catch like they have in training camp and this first preseason game, then our offense will be effective. The Bills haven't had a receiving core with this much potential in decades.

It's the defense I'm worried about. Specifically against the run. hopefully Marcel can take it to the next level in his career. God knows he has the talent to. The corners scare me, too. I have a lot of trust in Gilmore. Not too much in McKelvin.

It absolutely was. Far more meaningful than a FG. Sport psychology not big in these parts?

I guess if EJ is emotionally insecure, sure.

That's seriousposting btw.
