Oilers Prospect Rankings #4

I figured we could probably just move on to 4.. after the Klefbom vs. Nurse debate it's pretty obvious how the order goes..

1. Oscar Klefbom
2. Darnell Nurse
3. Martin Marincin

I don't even know who to go with. It's close for me between Slepyshev, Rajala, Musil, and Khaira

If we're going to skip to 4 I'm OK with that. I think I go with Musil next.

Gernat is attractive, but Musil is more likely to play in the NHL at a sooner date.

No way I pick Roy this early. He's got a chance to look really good this year, but he's still gotta do it. If he doesn't play his ass off I could see him getting abandoned within 2 seasons. His AHL numbers were really lacking last year.

It definitely gets interesting here. For me, it's Toni Rajala. His season last year impressed me a lot. I always thought it was way too early to write him off as a prospect. Especially considering the rookie season he had in Brandon before going to Finland.

Keep in mind there is Marc-Olivier Roy, who was our 2nd rounder this past draft and Olivier Roy, the goalie you're talking about.

Tough call, very tough. But I like Gernat.

Add defenseman Erik Gustafsson.

I went with Gernat, his play leading up to and in the playoffs gets him up to 4.

Musil doesn't have the upside to be this high IMO. MacTavish has expressed a distaste for his type of player so I bet he's traded this season.

I voted Dany Zharkov.
He is big, fast, has a lot of skill and upside.
Could have a big year playing in Russia.

Voted Marco Roy, but would put all of Ewanyk Moroz and maybe even Kessey before him

Imo, you're misinterpreting MacT. Musil still has a tremendous amount of skill. He's just in the mold of Smid, not Schultz

No doubt. That's pretty impressive. His playoff stats are pretty good too. 16 pts in 17 games. I hope he sees s few games with the big club this year.

17 pts in 22 playoffs games .. may have been sub par defensively but hardly a 'terrible' year in WHL.

He was better than Musil for the Oil Kings ..

My vote goes to Fedun.. I see an NHLer in him..

No Moroz in the list ... he was picked a lot higher than most on this list.. Ewanyk should be on here as well.

That's complete and utter nonsense.

I watched every Oil King's game last year. I was a big fan of Gernat the year before. He was awesome. Last year he was freakin awful. His skating/balance is terrible. His defensive game is non-existent. His physical game is pretty much absent.

He still thrives in the offensive zone. Perhaps they should convert him to wing? Because he is never going to make it as a dman.

Rajala IMO, a lot of the junior guys look promising and all, but you never know if it'll translate to the pro game *cough*Curtis Hamilton*cough*Tyler Pitlick*cough*. Toni Rajala has shown he can at least be an elite AHLer.

Rajala's resurgence has been one of the few bright spots on the Oiler prospect scene. Problem is, where would he fit in with the big team? He seems to be a top six or bust guy.

Is that the type of player we want on the third line?
