Edmundson. Will be close between him, Vannelli, and Binnington for these next 3 spots.

Binnington here for me. He had the most impressive season of any of the remaining players on this board last year imo. I think he has a ton of upside, I am very excited to see what he can do in the AHL.

Goalies are fools gold. How much past experience could it possibly take to teach our fan base this? Apparently an infinite amount.

Edmundson should have been 8, as Schmaltz at dreamiest best is a second pair flawed one-dimensional player, and he's farther away than Edmundson, who seems pretty solid, huge, has a shot, physical, can play.

I voted Edmundson.

Really I would have had both him and Vanelli ahead of Schmaltz.

Vanelli, Binnington, Edmundson should be about equal, with Kurker a little behind. I went with Vanelli.

This ^

I'd have Lindbohm in the mix as well...he's developed nicely over in Sweden since he's been drafted.

I think Binnington is a great prospect and has the best chance of becoming an NHL starter. That being said I believe if Lundstrom had the opportunity to develop here under the same circumstances as Binnington, he has a higher ceiling and a competitive fire, and if we have any goalie in our system who could be an elite goalie along the lines of Quick its Lundstrom. I doubt he’ll get that chance in the US but if he does and puts it together watch out.

I get that people like to write off goalies because they are hard to predict, but let me as a question. How many prospects actually make the NHL? At this point in our rankings, there are few players that anyone should be confident about making it to the NHL.

Thus far, Binnington has shown the greatest potential and progress of any of the remaining prospects.

I really am getting the feeling that people are scared of goalies.

Not scared, just realistic. Blues have never done very well drafting/signing/developing Goalies thru their history.

Not scared of goalies I just think Edmundson has a better chance at making the NHL. In fact, I was planning on voting Binnington next

It’s that goalies who show great things at the lower levels are a dime a dozen. There’s almost zero relationship between a goalie putting up good development numbers at age 18, 19, 20 and NHL success. There are literally hundreds of #1 goalies in leagues around the world. Think about it. College, all the junior teams, all the Euro leagues, all the AHL teams … but there are only 30 NHL spots for a #1 goalie. Looking at a goalie’s success at age 19 and thinking it means anything other than predicting the roulette ball will next land in the red 22 slot is not being realistic IMO.

On the other hand, skaters are a lot more predictable from their development at age 18-20 as to where they might land in the NHL. That’s just the nature of it. Forwards are generally safest to project, then defensemen, then a big gap to goalies.

I almost went with Vannelli as he has all the tools but I want to see how he adapts to the college game first. Going with Edmudson here. I'll be voting for Binnington fairly soon but I agree that he's very hard to project.

Binnington again. People who are saying the goalies are a complete crapshoot: our last two high profile goalie prospects were Bishop and Allen. Bishop is now (probably) the starting goaltender for an NHL club and Allen has an NHL-only contract for 14-15.

That's why I'm bummed about our Wolves agreement. They'll only take one of our goalie prospects and have one goalie of their own. I'd love to see Allen/Binnington this season and Binnington/Lundstrom next season but we just really don't have room for Lundstrom in the next couple of seasons.
