This isn't at all funny, but it does show (if anybody ever thought otherwise), that (many) hockey players really can fight, and their punches can really injure you.

A British woman. Behold the new enforcer!

All kidding aside, wouldn't want to be punched by her, clearly packs a punch.

It was a man, not a woman.

Isn't Philippa a woman's name? And in the article ''Phillipa Ellis, defending, said he had been selected for the Great Britain team and hoped to become a PE teacher.

She added: “That is now unlikely.”

And it's clear that the judge is a man as his name is Richard Foster.

I could be wrong though, English isn't my first language.

Phillippa Ellis is the name of his lawyer. Harrison Goode is the player in question.

Not just hockey players, lots of reasonably healthy and somewaht muscular adults could injure someone seriously with a punch.

Being muscular doesn't mean you know how to fight.

Yeah, but it does tend to mean you can hit hard.

Perhaps I should clarify: If you hit someone, you can hurt them badly. I probably can't fight well, but even as a 5'6 woman, against another woman, I would be terrifying in a fight because of the strength/size. Don't get in fights unless you're prepared to seriously hurt someone.
