Top 25 Goals

Hey guys, it's the offseason and I'm bored so I made a video of the top 25 goals scored by Montreal Canadiens players since 2005. Why 2005 you may ask? Because 1) that's when I started following hockey 2) it's hard to find videos older than that.

I took in consideration 3 things for the order:
1) The goal itself
2) The context behind it
3) The importance of the goal

WARNING: If you suffer from nostalgia you might not want to watch this video or we might see a bunch of threads asking to bring back Kostitsyn and/or Cammalleri.

Hope you enjoy and share your thoughts on the list!

Dat PK one-timer at the end.
Dat Kovalev slap shot in OT.
Dat Lapierre playoff heroics.
Dat Eller goal after a Kostitsyn dangle.

Ahhh Kostitsyn-Pleks-Kovalev

Man that blind behind the back pass by AK right to Pleks for that goal..
AK setting up Eller's hat trick.
AK's goal against the Caps.
Lappys play off goal.
My favorites.

I bet AK-Pleks-Galchenyuk could have produced some filthy highlight reel plays. I could see Galchenyuk re-creating some AK/Pleks magic on Plekanec's right wing.

Had to mute the music though.

Great video! One of the best I seen for top goals. I love the music selection and the jerseys with the numbers on them.

SO many memories brought back! Watching it made me wonder if only AK was consistent. Boy he would have been so effective

Thanks for the feedback! Glad to know at least somebody liked the music selection! But yeah making this video made me wish Kostitsyn was still on this team...So much talent, my goodness.

It really is too bad Kostitsyn didn't work out here, for whatever reason. Guy clearly has top-line talent.

Someone's a Kostitsyn fan...

My favourite is definitely Lapierre's insane undressing of Goligoski followed up Kovalev's OT slap-shot snipe of spite. And I noticed you missed the Streit goal (I think it was in the playoffs, Lapierre drop-pass to Streit... whatta beaut!)

Go Habs Go!

I was going to put the Streit goal at #25 but I couldn't find any good footage of it. Do you have a video of that Kovalev goal you're talking about, it doesn't ring a bell at all.

The Kovalev one was in your video, it's OT against the Bruins and Thomas absolutely robs him. Then after winning the ensuing faceoff Kovy just wires it home and gives Tommy the Tea Party Nut a stare-down.

Oh the way I read it I thought you meant after undressing Goligoski he gave it to Kovy.

Actually, I found the music didn't work very well... Do you mind doing a version without the music?

Man everytime i see feedback of kostitsyn i can't stop thinking what a top-end player he would have been with just a little hard-work and heart in his game....he has incredible skill....but no will...so sad!

Great highlights! Remember all of these goals!

In 2020 hopefully we will see a lot of Galchenyuk / Subban.

Top 3 goals weren't some highlights reels, but they were clutch as ****!

Agree with a lot of people here,

Kovalev-Pleckanedc-Kostitsyn

Sure, I was essentially going to do that at first but I felt the silence in between the goals was a bit weird/awkward.

One of my favorites. I was at the Bell Centre for that game. It was so fun to watch a good blow out. Crowd was crazy. Sucked seeing Markov go down, but aside from that it was my favorite game I've seen live.

Nice video.

If you were watching that having never watched any hockey, you'd think Kostitsyn was the 'great one'
