I'm hoping the Avs give one of Hainsey or Gilbert a tryout at least.

Both guys are still solid #4's and would be good additions to the Avs below par Defense.

Gilbert - EJ
Hejda - Barrie

looks a lot better then Wilson in Gilberts place.

these all seem pretty realistic, nice list.

I think Morrow could end up getting a tryout with Anaheim, but there really isn't an opening for him. I just think that could happen because Penner is a gamble and other rookies may flop. Also, seemed like there was interest in Morrow if Penner wasn't coming back.

Morrow could be good on the 3rd/4th line in Van

I doubt the Flames as we have Cammy,Sven,Stempniak,Hudler,Glencross,Jones in the top 9. Not to mention Raymond is a very soft player which we are trying to move away from.

Some guesses....

Peter Mueller and Brunner sign in Switzerland
Brenden Morrow and Ron Hainsey sign in Phoenix
Detroit offers Bryzgalov a tryout, not sure if he actually takes it though, heads to Russia
Cleary ends up back in Detroit somehow, maybe on a tryout
Prospal to Vancouver
Chad LaRose to KHL
Raymond invited to Rangers camp
Gilbert invited to Jackets camp
Boyes invited to Leafs camp

The unicorn. It won't happen, but it would be funny.

CBJ, knowing Horton will miss some time, calls up Teemu Selanne. Selanne signs a one year deal with the team, after talking to Jarmo Kekalainen. (Possibly with a back agreement involving giving his son, Eetu Selanne, either a rookie camp invite, a training camp invite or drafting him in the future)

Alot of quality left this year IMO. I could see bryz going to edm. The other ones are all shots in the dark, but I hope at least one defender goes to the leafs or they take a chance on morrow

My guesses

-BRYZGALOV: KHL. Word is he met with Sergei Fedorov this week (Talks were classified as "informal") but Fedorov made mention of his team being open to the idea.
-THOMAS: (UFA). I think he'll sit out for a while and see if he can catch on with a team who loses their #1 goalie. If not, he'll quietly retire in the offseason much like Dwayne Roloson this past year.
-CONNOLLY: Training Camp try-out with EDMONTON. Eakins is familiar with Connolly from his stint in the AHL last year. Oilers are likely going to be without RNH for the first part of the season, Connolly can come in and make the Oilers in the #2 slot and bump down to the 3rd line once RNH is healthy.
-HAINSEY: CAROLINA. It's long been rumored that Carolina has been looking at Hainsey. Eventually, they'll come together on a dollar amount.
-DI PIETRO: I still think he'll have to take a Try-Out. Maybe with FLORIDA and try to outplay Clemmensen for the 1B/back-up spot. Florida has a dearth of goalies in the system behind those two, as well, so he might try to play his way up from the AHL.
-SELANNE: Supposed to meet with GM Bob Murray tomorrow, IIRC. He'll be back with ANAHEIM for one more go.
-KABERLE: Supposedly he hired new trainers for his workouts this offseason. I think he'll catch on somewhere after a training camp try-out. Let's say BUFFALO.
-MORROW: When all is said and done, I still expect him to end up in TORONTO.
-WHITNEY: How about COLORADO?! The Avalanche had a terrible defence last year and the only thing they added to it was Andre Benoit and Cory Sarich.
-KUBA: KHL. He's probably finished in the NHL, barring someone suffering a catastrophic injury early in camp.
-GILBERT: I could see him being brought in TORONTO's training camp as bit of a scare to Cody Franson, saying basically "See how cheaply we can replace you?!" Gilbert and Whitney could flip-flop here.
-LOMBARDI: Switzerland. It's been rumored for a while and he didn't have much left last year.
-HAMRLIK: KHL or retirement.
-GAGNE: I still don't think he and PHILADELPHIA are finished. I wouldn't be shocked to see him get a Try-Out with Montreal either.
-LYDMAN: Retirement, as rumored by Aaron Ward.
-WHITE: He'll catch on somewhere. For prediction's sake, let's say TAMPA BAY.
-POTI: Switzerland or Germany
-SULLIVAN: Likewise.
-PROSPAL: PITTSBURGH. After the Pens free up some space.
-EATON: PITTSBURGH. Likewise. He has the highest QUALCOMP of any unsigned d-men, which leads me to believe he already has a handshake agreement with someone.

I think toronto is done with signing free agents. They only have about 5 million in left in cap space and they still do not have kadri or franson signed. If they are going to want to keep kadri and franson and sign someone else, they are going to have to get rid of some of there players.

I hope Carolina gets one of Morrow or Cleary. A 3rd liner is more important than D for now unless Hainsey will sign for cheap.

I think Bryz and/or Thomas will be mid-season signings. They'll be waiting on injuries and under-performing.

According to the Neue Luzerner Zeitung, Brunner, who is training with Zug in Switzerland right now, is still negociating with NHL teams. Negociation are advanced enough, that he may sign a deal this week.

The journalist from the "Neue Luzerner Zeitung" who is writing on ice-hockey said two weeks ago on twitter that Brunner signs that week. So I would not see that as a fact. But I'm also quite sure that he'll sign in NA, money should not be an issue.

I am actually very surprised he is still available. Probably more than anyone on the list.

Also noted seeing Ryan Parent, I remember him being pretty highly thought of coming out if juniors (picked 18th overall). Oh well.

Tim Thomas has a house in Colorado right? Seems like a good fit with the Avs being weak in goal.

Hainsey to the Caps. You can't do worse than John Erskine as your second-pairing d-man.
