Beaulieu pleads guilty to assault charges

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=429745

Quote:
Montreal Canadiens prospect Nathan Beaulieu and his father, former Ontario Hockey League coach Jacques Beaulieu, pleaded guilty to assault charges in London, Ont., on Wednesday.

They were granted conditional discharges with probation and their lawyer confirmed outside court that the sentence will allow Nathan Beaulieu to play hockey.
For those that don't remember what happened:

Quote:
Strathroy-Caradoc police charged each of them with two counts of assault in late April stemming from an altercation at a house party that followed a charity golf tournament.
Probably took the guilty charge to get a nice deal.

They could move him for hockey reasons. Not to be a downer but he was probably the least impressive "big time" prospect I saw in person this past season in the AHL. Left think that is like a mid-round draft pick project player with plenty to work on. Skates great but left a ton to be desired. I know he is very young for most of last season for the league much like Jurco with Detroit. But surprised none the less that he was maybe fourth or fifth most talented D-man on the ice that night.

First time offender, appropriate sentence for someone who shows accountability by pleading guilty, made a young person mistake, lets move on.

I find that hard to believe, don't confuse talent with actual play. Kovalev was massively talented but rarely used it to his advantage for example. A player can be the most talented player on the ice but not the best.

Really odd that you say that because management mentioned Beaulieu being the most impressive guy they seen in the AHL this past year at the end of the season...

Meh. I doubt he gets traded because of this BUT if he does, it better be part of a deal with Philly for Simmonds. I'd love that.

YAY! Another thread which will inevitably turn into a 'Beaulieu is a bust' thread.

No offence to OP, thanks for the info. It's just that it's exactly the kind of thing that brings out the same tired comments from the same posters.

Now the page can be turned, and we get back to business. Excellent!

Totally disagree, after seeing a ton of him on and off the ice in Saint John. But whatever. I won't change your mind, and even when he ends up making it to the show you still won't admit you were wrong.

Heard the same thing when I called Fischer a bust.

I could be wrong. I hope I am.

I have a book entitled "Recipies For Disaster". Chapter 1: Smoking Crack While Pregnant. Chapter 2: Eating Posion. Chapter 3: House Parties After A Charity Golf Tourament. Chapter 4: Living In Your Parent's Basement.

Ok. You must be talking about Jacques since he's the only one that has connections with London. FWIW I don't care if you don't like Nathan's father's game or atittude as long as Nathan plays well.

LoL Aren't you the one that called Mcdonagh a bust as well?
