Top 10 (Fantasy point) D #1

Ok ... at the risk of confusing myself, and leaving out someone's favorite d-man, here we go ...

Keeper-league ... points, plus/minus, pims ... Who's the #1 desirable D?

(and say who to add)

Add Berard, I believe he averaged more points than any other D-man in the league with the Blackhawks.

If Niedermayer signs with an offensive team, watch out.

Gonchar by alot. In Boston, I think his +/- will be actually quite good.

Add guys like Berard and Ozolinsh who dominate offensively, as opposed to alot of guys who don't.

People forget how many points you can get from PIMS. Therefor I'd choose Pronger.

That's part of the reason why I chose Chara. He also will have a very high +/- rating, and is in the start of his prime. Picking Chara was a no-brainer for me.

Gonchar

Add Kubina (scores goals on a great team, good +/- and not afraid to drop the gloves)

Ah, but +/- counts, and Berard is one of the worst D-men defensively, although his points total should help.

Definitely Pronger, for points, plus/minus and PIM's. He's at the top in all those categories.

Wait, someone tell me what the hell a keeper league is. I'm not big on the fantasy stuff.

more or less, a fantasy league in which a certain number of players (varies from league to league) are retained from year to year ... meaning GM's have to account for potential production in future years, rather than just drafting players with one year of production in mind ... for example, in the case of defensemen, Bouwmeester would probably be a late round pick, if picked at all, in a non-keeper league, but in a keeper-league, he would probably be one of the more desirable d-men ...
