I went through all the tweets, not sure what to really think. Although Henrique was close to an extension in july, then again the other day before the deal he said Henrique close.

Wait and see I guess.

Lol wut. I can think of like 5 the Oilers would love to have.

Amazing how high confidence is for a perennial basement team.

So they have 5 that they are willing to deal for Potter?

Amazing how you continue to just miss the whole story so you can talk about the real team you love.

I don't think his post said "C's they'd trade for Potter"

10pts in 14GP in the playoffs last year.

I don't mind the declining numbers recently. He's only 34 and has tons of experience. They'd be crazy not to sign him.

My question is what gives with all of these players?

smyth - gordon - hemsky
joensuu - lander - jones
cleary - acton - brown
hamilton, omark

All fighting for 6 (maybe 7) spots...

I meant any C's for Potter. Unless Detroit wants to trade us Helm or Abdelkader, then I'm game

Competition is never bad. It ensures you have the best person in every position, and keeps them working hard. The only spots that are safe, imo, belong to Gordon and Hemsky (while he's here)

And really at end of the day... I would not mind a makeup of:

Hall-RNH-Eberle- we know what these guys can do together
Perron-Gagner-Yakupov- Maybe a bit small but most compete on the roster
Cleary-Gordon-Hemsky- Decent two way line. Speedy two way winger shut down center freewheeling winger.
Smyth-Lander-Omark- Mix of everything. See if it works.
Joensuu Brown

Brown subs in when we want speed grit over fancy play on line 4... Joensuu in when Smytty needs a break... actually would not mind to try the three Euros (Joensuu-Lander-Omark) together early and often... you have the big physical winger, the two way pivot who can pass (a bit) and a small firewagon winger... good balance

I only have one issue with that. You forgot Jones. I'd be more than happy with that lineup though. Beats what we've had

Yes for sure... that is what he gets for blowing off our first offer and not signing until later LOL

Makes us look all the better really

Hall-RNH-Eberle
Perron-Gagner-Yakupov
Cleary-Gordon-Hemsky
Smyth-Lander-Jones
Omark/Joensuu Brown

One of the Euro wingers gets the boot... Omark better pedigree obviously but if it is JJ I think he probably makes it down and has good impact for OKC...

R. Hamilton-Arcobello-Nesbitt
Stretch-Miller-Ford
Eager-Acton-Joensuu
C. Hamilton-Tremblay-Pitlick
Lizon

I would love to have Dan Cleary on the team.

Cleary-Gordon-Hemsky
Eager/Brown-Lander-Jones/Joensuu

it's still a wart filled bottom 6, but it's better than what we have right now.

Littered? Lmao. There are 4 tweets. 2 from an account that claims to not be a "fake insider". 1 from copperandblue on a suggestion and 1 from a high school kid claiming he's signing here.

Looking at his tweets the not fake insider has claimed Douglas Murray to the Canucks (signed in Mtl). Grabovski to sign for $3.5-$4M (signed for $3M). A week ago claimed Tootoo to Nashville for a 5th (crickets). An immeninent Tor/Col trade from 2 weeks ago. Then said he meant Calgary not Toronto. (Whoops). Jagr to Mtl, Car, Buff, or LA (signed in NJ). A month ago said Brunner to Nj 2yr $6M imminent etc etc

Pretty obvious that he searched for "Dan Cleary" same as you, saw the copperandblue tweet, and suddenly has inside info that "Edmonton talking to Cleary".

The account has been up for a month. Amazingly he's suckered 1,000 people into following him.

What about this:

Cory Potter for Patrick Eaves (Or put together a better package for Abdelkader)

Ales Hemsky + 6th for Marcel Goc

Sign Dan Cleary

Hall - Gagner - Yakupov
Perron - RNH - Eberle
Cleary - Gordon - Eaves/Abdelkader
Jones - Goc - Jonesuu/Smyth/Omark/Brown/Eager

Smid - Petry
Ference - J. Schultz
N. Schultz - Belov/Grebs/Larsen

Dubnyk
Labarbs

Creates lots of competition for our bottom line and bottom pairing so that we have the best player we can playing.

If Edmonton sent Larsen and Joensuu down, and then traded Potter, they'd have enough room to sign Cleary. It would clear around 2M or so I think. If they wanted extra space, they could try and trade Nick Schultz or Hemsky, but Schultz may be easier, or they could send Grebeshkov down and grab more room that way.

Hall-Gagner-Eberle
Perron-RNH-Yakupov
Cleary-Gordon-Hemsky
Smyth-Lander-Jones
Brown/either UFA C or Omark

Ference-Schultz
Smid-Petry
Schultz-Grebeshkov
Fedun (Klefbom comes up if there is an injury in the top 6)

Dubnyk
LaBarbera
