Sorry, you're wrong.

Band influences are a lot like family trees in the sense that they grow exponentially.

If any of you have family or friends who are considering flying Air Canada, I hope you immediately punch them in the throat for being so foolish.

Air Canada: Literally Worse Than Hitler.

(^ Godwin's Law states we'd get here eventually, I'm just saving time by going straight to the well from the start.^)

Ive had people tell me the beatles are the most important thing to happen to music and music would still be stuff from the 30's, 40's etc without them. Which is obviously bogus.

Maybe the band with the most influence but overall its a small influence.

I'm not sure if that's what will drive me to the loony bin. Maybe that tied in with leet speak.

It is a big re-occurring grammar mistake on the internet and people don't even realize it is a mistake.

I do. Just when I read it, it made me think on how many times people actually mistaken the two, and feel they are correct.

Air Canada basically are directly responsible for us missing our connecting flight, refused to take responsibility, and now we're stranded in NYC and will have to pay anywhere from $1.5k-$3k in additional ticketing fees in order to get home.

Air Canada can go #&@* themselves with a rusty fishing hook.

That's terrible. There is no way around the fee?

I like the fact that you're taking me to task for the tongue-in-cheek literal/figurative choice, but not for immediately invoking Godwin's Law.

I'm sitting in an airport hotel at JFK, and thinking of someone trying to win an internet argument by claiming that something "is figuratively worse than Hitler" is making my awful day a little better, so thanks for that.

Not without Air Canada contacting our connecting airline (Qatar), which would take them ~5 minutes to do, yet they still refuse to do so.

To recap: Air Canada is going to cost one of their (now ex-) customers thousands of dollars because there is not a single person in the company who can be bothered to make a 5 minute phone call.

Qatar is a good airline though, so we're going to see what we can do. I might be able to get a flight that leaves Monday, which won't cost as much. We're kind of in limbo at the moment.

I think most people know the difference betweent figuratively and literally, but the meaning has kind of changed. Like how "sick" means cool.
