The chemistry with Shinkaruk must help. It will be interesting to see when he gets to main camp.

Bo The Bull. Get that trending.
I'm amazed that their chemistry. It's like they were meant to be together.

I sort of want to see both make it. Shame we do not have the spots available to pull what Montreal did and go with a kid line.

Would love to see BH and HS play on the same line at the World Juniors

They had to sign Higgins to that 4 year

Well we always have next year, buyout Booth if he does not succeed put Higgins on the 2nd again. Drop Hansen to the 4th and then there you go.

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian
Higgins-Kesler-Burrows
Shinkaruk-Horvat-Jensen
Weise-Richardson-Hansen

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Edler-Garrison
Corrado-Tanev

Luongo
Lack

You can even switch Kassian and Jensen so then Shinkaruk and Horvat have that protection by Kassian.

Hansen isn't a fourth liner. He's also much better than Higgins

Exactly, he was tying up his man all night when his man was crashing/inside the blue crease. Just amazing defense on his part.

I know but if worse comes to worse he would be put there. Also I don't think Hansen does very well in the top 6.

Jensen is not making the canucks by floating around.

Tortorella will rip him apart.

He has a worldclass release, but he needs to improve other areas of his game.

I think out of our forward prospects, only Horvat has a chance to make the canucks.

Honestly, if the salary cap shoots up to $70M. We could afford to keep Booth and role an unusually strong fourth line. Still, I am a big fan of Higgins and much as I thought the kids did well tonight. This is just one game. Who knows how good they do throughout pre-season, when they are up against actual NHL players.

Yeah, he's certainly not hurting his chances of making the team with performances like tonight's. I think he's become a fairly safe bet to at least get a few games with the big club this year.

He looks as good if not better than Hodgson's last preseason with us.

Pretty ridiculous, and alot of people seem to do it for some strange reason-- Best forward on the team outside of Sedins/Kesler/Burrows.

It's so damn difficult for me to temper my expectations when he plays like this

I really like how Gaunce and Horvat have literally made Schroder irrelevant in regards to the future of the organization. I think Horvat and Schroder make the team out of camp to give Schroder one last chance, but Schroder will end up being traded or waived before Remembrance Day.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows/Kassian
Booth-Kesler-Burrows/Kassian
Higgins-Horvat-Hansen
Gaunce-Richardson-Weise (Richardson helps mentor Gaunce and they switch off)
Schroder/Santorelli

Horvat turns into a more offensive Couterier

Horvat reminds me of Burrows in many ways: excellent anticipation, positioning, quick, good stick, tireless. Except he's bigger.

Its hard to imagine he would develop less playing with NHLers against NHLers than he would playing Canadian Junior hockey (51 teams).

Schroeder would likely look pretty good playing against 18 year olds. Why don't we wait at least for main camp before we anoint Horvat as the 3rd line C?

The only thing that might delay Horvat from making the nhl this year is his speed.

I think he is smart enough to be responsible defensively and gradually work on other parts of the game.

But speed might be too much to overcome for him. He looks decently fast against other teams young stars, but against nhlers, he will look slow.

Horvat is going to be a franchise type 2-way guy for this team. Much like Mike Richards and Patrice Bergeron. I know it's been beaten to death but I think, if trading Schneider was the only way of getting a return for one of our goalies, he was an outstanding return. BH, HS, and BG give me something to really look forward to for the future. Funny how one draft can drastically change the future look of your team. I haven't been able to say it a lot in recent memory, but I think Gillis did a fantastic job at this years draft.

Discussion and debate?

Redundant.

One of them has to be traded.

Im not happy that Schroeder is not panning out. Although he hasn't had a fair shake yet. He had a muti point gamelast year in the NHL. Lets not Grabner him

Wait ill you see Schroeder play as the third line C ..as opposed to playing as the 2 nd line C last season ... before making any judgments ....huge difference with Kesler out last season

Having said that I do like what Bo brings.

Curious to see how Bo, Jensen perform with a veteran lineup next week

Umm no. One of them does not have to be traded.

Did we not learn anything from that ill advised Hodgson trade ?

Horvat and Guance haven't made Schroeder irrelevant at all. Horvat is just that shiny new toy, neither of those prospects have the offensive upside of Schroeder still has.

I think Horvat is our best prospect since Kesler. I could easily accept a kid line for our third line and move Hansen etc. to the 4th line. I know there'd be growing pains, but having Horvat (and whoever) learn directly from Sedin and Kesler etc. would be a better education than tearing up the juniors or stuck in the AHL with a bunch of has-beens and never-will-be's.

BTW - Why do we keep aquiring smallish players like Schroeder, then refuse to give them a real chance at making the team.

We need to stop putting a label on lines. It really messes people up.
