Yakupov seems a little more of a sure thing. Only real knock on Drouin is he is a bit small. If they both hit their ceiling I think Yak gets more goals but Drouin gets more points.

Drouin has some sick moves, but I love Yak's aggressiveness.

Good comparison and won't vote. Yakupov is more proven but Drouin has very similar potential and I believe will be the best to second best player from this draft, Jones being the other 1/2 player.

Really hard to decide as Yakupov's natural sniping ability is top 3 in the game ("ability" not current performance) but Drouin has absolutely ridiculous hands and vision.

Jonathan Drouin because Nail Yakupov is very overrated.

Drouin too is overrated, but less than Yakupov.

Yakupov = 35-40 goals, 75 points. Not 50 goals, 90-95 points.
Drouin = 30 goals, 85 points. Not 40 goals, 95-100 points.

If Drouin had Yakupov's shot and skating, would he have gone #1? I think he would have.

Truly spoken like someone who has never seen Yakupov play. Kid will score 50, what a shot on him.

I might have taken him there as it is, depending on my team needs. Drouin's overall offensive ability is so well balanced and is at a very high level. Nail's sniping ability is incredible though and so rare. Either could be better in the end but both will be great.

Drouin because he doesn't play for the Oilers/was drafted more recently and this is HF.

drouin had way better numbers in the final season of junior, not to mention it was a stronger draft

Depending on the team drafting first overall's needs, he could easily have gone first in a draft with those players. Personally, I would only choose Mackinnon over him.

I see an Patrick Kane type upside to Drouin and an Iginla type upside to Yakupov, so Yakupov is probably going to be better.

I wouldn't take Yakupov over Drouin on the lightning for the future though and I doubt the Oilers do the same as they already have a similar player in Eberle.

Drouin's potential is the highest of any drafted prospect in the world right now, IMO.

i'd personally take Barkov and Drouin ahead also. but then, i think Drouin is going to be the best player from this draft.

Drouin is a level above Yakupov in skill and potential.

Yakupov. Better scorer, more aggressive and better gifted physically. People fall in love with Drouin cause he has dirty hands.

Yakupov.

Can the people picking Drouin please be more specific about why he is better than Yakupov (aside from stats). I don't see it myself but am excited to hear specific examples about the difference between the two.

he's an offensive machine. he has the sickest hands to go along with a top notch hockey IQ.

he can make something happen out of nothing and isn't afraid of dangerous areas.

he has the same drive and work ethic as Yakupov - but instead of being a deadly sniper, he's a deadly playmaker who can also score.
