A Kadri and Franson package?

I was just wondering. What other NHL teams would give up to aquire Nazem Kadri and Cody Franson in a package? What is their value in other team's eyes? Could they be used to aquire a number one centre? Also what would pay them $/yrs? I looking for non-Leaf replies, please.

But Kadri is on-track to become a #1C?

Kadri is not going to become a sustainable #1C maybe he'll have a season where he looks one but he won't ever be a true #1C.

Lol ok buddy. Keep dreaming.

This would never happen and would cost a huge overpayment that no team would pay for two RFA rights.

I'll play along I guess. St. Louis Blues offer David Backes.

I dont think the Rangers would do this nor do they have the cap room but Stepan rights for both of their rights would be entertaining

That would be tempting....I'm just not sure the gap btwn Kadri and Stepan is Franson......though I admit he is more proven and has more value...

After years of being called a bust, and no confidence shown in our top prospect, he finally breaks out going ppg for most of theyear and becomes arguably our mvp for the season.

2 months later he is already being thrown in trade propsals and will never be a #1 centre

some leafs fans...

(not even going to mention franson)

How can you claim that Kadri won't be a 1C, after he had such a great 'rookie'(ish) season?

Logically, you should be thinking that there is a good chance. Not 100% certain, of course, but the indications point to him having a good chance at being a 1C in this league for a long time.

I'm one of Kadri's biggest supports back to his days in junior, but I also think Kadri won't be a number 1 center. He's gonna hover around 65-70 points a season while playing a very gritty game. I don't see him becoming a PPG career player, he might hit it once in a full season but I don't see multiple PPG seasons in Kadri's future.

As for the proposed package, at this point on the season I don't see any team making this kind of move. Maybe next year when both players are signed. If we trade Franson and Kadri it would be for an upgrade at center. A team the avalanche could be interesting maybe something around Kadri and franson for Duchene, leafs would probably add another piece.

Hodgson and Kadri are pretty much equal and the difference between the two is not Foligno who is a top 6 power-forward and who fits in our core.

you realize that a player like that is a number 1 center... you dont know to be a ppg player to be a top line center...

I see 65-70 points more of an elite second line center, but I guess it all depends on what people consider a 1st line center.

This is exactly what I don't understand. After years of patience and development (still in progress) One of our top prospects has finally shown what a player he could turn out to be now lets go and trade him and our top 4 dman.

Kadri will be eventually be signed, he's a key core piece moving fwd for this team. Franson, I know some are crying about him not being signed on our board. But really he is a support player, and as a support player he is expendable.

Kadri and Franson should be kept IMO, if at all possible.

How is Marcus Foligno a top six forward?

This..I thought he might fit in the bottom 6 somewhere as a young banger that blends well with the youth movement the Leafs have underwent. I also feel Kadri has a bit more value than Hodgson but i agree it's pretty similar...
