Not sure who will make the jump but the key suspects to watch will be:

Kristo
Fast
Lindberg
McIlrath
Miller
(in no order)

Figure those 5 will be the last of the cuts, if cut.

Outside of Kristo, none of them will be with the team to start.

The prospect of Callahan and Hagelin being out to start the season suggests you might be wrong.

I think Fast, Miller and Lindberg have the best shots to fill in for Hagelin and Cally to start the year. Hrivik might be a dark horse. Kristo needs some seasoning, IMO.

Fast can slot in at RW for Callahan. Miller and Lindberg are left-handed Cs. Do you see the Rangers slotting one of them at LW or are they going put them at C and figure out how to fill Hagelin's slot elsewhere?

We have 5 centers on the roster already (Stepan, Richards, Brassard, Boyle, Moore), why would they put a rookie at center?

Boyle falls down a lot.

Why would you put Brian Boyle at center when you have Dominic Moore? This franchise does silly things. I expect Miller to be in the conversation and to be fighting for a spot; maybe in the middle.

Maybe it's because I'm a goalie but wouldn't it make sense to let a rookie get used to the NHL game at his natural position?

Lindberg and Miller are also part of the Rangers long-term plans. Why risk messing with their development by putting them against the fire at a position they're not comfortable with. I'd rather the team move Boyle, Richards and Moore to the wings.

Richards may be best suited for LW at this point... especially if Lindberg comes in and shows that he's ready to play at his natural position in the NHL. Also, Hagelin out obviously frees up a LW spot.

I think there will be quite a bit to decide in TC considering the Hagelin/Callahan injuries.

And I'm not so sure he makes the final cut either.

Why either when Halpern is out there?

As long as you don't expect a rookie to take the draw (especially when Boyle, Moore and even Richards are generally over 50%), then it's fine. Although Miller did OK last year in that department.

Boyle also played wing a fair amount towards the end of last year after Brassard came in. Assuming Moore is up to snuff as your 4C, then I would expect either Boyle or Richards to end up on the wing. I'd expect Richards to probably start the season in the middle, but who knows what happens as the season progresses.

Stepan
Brassard
Richards
Moore
- Boyle on a wing

A guy like Lindberg could also come out strong in camp - to me, he's an unknown. I'd be surprised if Miller starts the season centering an NHL line. (wing, or Hartford would be my guess)

Fast can play either wing and Miller can pay all three spots up front. Could see a situation where Lindberg eases into the NHL as a winger or someone else moves there.

Personally, I'm very excited to see McIlrath in camp. The D is already looking pretty nice, if he could step up big time, that'd really give NYR a crazy surplus.

On the front, I'm most excited to see how Miller has progressed and to find out where Fast, Lindberg and Kristo are in their development.

Should be a good training camp this year. The prospect pool is in pretty nice shape right now.

It really pisses me off that Pyatt and even Dom Moore take up roster spots when we can have these guys. Pyatt should be traded an Moore should be the 13th forward

Moore is actually a great player, not a waste of a roster spot.

I'm sure that management is more than willing to let kids take roster spots from older more stop-gap kind of guys, but the kids have to prove that they're ready.

Your right, but I don't think we really need Moore AND Boyle, and there's literally no use for Pyatt he doesn't bring much to the table.
