What's the trade value for nyquist? I know he just resigned but hypothetically is there a dman (not named yandle or oel) or dman + that would get nyquist to Phoenix?
No. Not realistically anyway.
Anybody D not named Yandle or OEL isn't worth shipping off Nyquist. Wings would want an upgrade here and now to move Nyquist for a D and outside of Yandle/OEL, the Coyotes don't have that.
Rundblad or Gormley would be nice prospects, but the Wings have their own assortment of high-upside D prospects that are within a couple years of the NHL. (Also, I'd imagine that it would be Nyquist+ for one of those guys, and I have no interest in that)

The only one I can think of is where he doesn't live up to expectations.
Even if he's great, and you can't fit him into the team structure, you can always move a young talented player for futures. St. Louis was able to move Perron and get a 2nd round pick along with Magnus Paajarvi, a former top 10 pick. Paajarvi is cheaper but not yet to Perron level, so it gives them time to build the rest of their roster.
