I'll post lines as I hear them; Foote and Blake are not playing tonight.

LA has had the early pressure. I can confirm the Tanguay/Forsberg/Hejduk line is together.

Willsie, Cummins and McCormick are also forming a line.

Goaltending matchup is Aebischer v. Cechmanek.

No Sakic, Kariya and Selanne tonight.

Looks like another line is Battaglia/Aubin/Worrell

The other line must consist of Svatos, Hinote and Hahl.

So...

Tanguay/Forsberg/Hejduk
Svatos/Hahl/Hinote
Battaglia/Aubin/Worrell
Willsie/McCormick/Cummins

Forsberg gets a double minor for roughing. Avery also gets a minor penalty...LA goes on the PP. They have controlled the play thus far.

Double minor for Forsberg with Avery?! Avery is an angle.

Same officiating crew the Avs drew 10 penalties with against SJ.

This is the game when Liles, McAllister and DJ Smith win a job.

It's also an obvious battle with Willsie, McCormick and Aubin.

Thanks, Jori - glad to see you are Dario are covering for us.

I've got believe tonight is where 5 forwards are battling for 2 positions, barring keeping McAllister and/or Smith as swing guys. I just don't believe the AVS will go into the season with 5 real D and 2 guys who fill spots. The only issue that would keep me, as coach (or G.M.) from keeping Liles at this point would be one-way versus two-way contracts. Is that worth playing Smith/McAllister as D instead of Liles?

Avs kill the penalty. Aebi has had to be sharp early as LA has controlled the game thus far.

Its not worth playing DJ Smith over anybody.

Anybody have a lineup for the Kings tonight. Yahoo! and NHL.com are a bit slow this evening and the Avs website didn't even bother.

Avs finally get a chance. Forsberg with a wraparound move on the backhand. Save by Monic.

McAllister gets in a fight with Redden, They immediately fell to the ice. Nothing to report.

Avery draws another penalty. Smith in the box. ANOTHER penalty on the Avs. This is out of control.

Avery has really gotten under the skin of the Avs tonight....first Forsberg and now DJ Smith has fell victim as he heads to the box.

Avery gets tied up with DJ Smith behind the play. Smith takes the penalty. Avery keeps skating around the play and yapping. Morris goes after him and is stopped, then Hinote gets in a wrestling match with him and they broke to commercial.

Still only 5 on 4, not sure how the penalties played out. Abby is the only one keeping the Avs in this right now.

Smith--double minor for roughing
Morris-10 minute misconduct
Hinote-5 for fighting

Avery-5 for fighting--10 minute misconduct....

With less than a minute remaining on the double minor, Frolov is called for goalie interference. It doesn't stop here....Aebi gets called for the retaliation. So the Avs penalty killers don't get a break.

Forsberg with a drop pass to Hejduk, save Monic.

Smith out of the box, teams at even-strength. LA is 0-4 on the PP, Aebischer has kept Colorado in this game.
