What would you do if you were Marc Bergevin during next year offseason ?

I feel with the Murray singning that this offseason is pretty much dead (It have been for a while thought) and we talk about pretty much every possible topics already.

I know the season haven't started yet but I dont feel like '' La Sainte-Flanelle'' have a cup contender club this year. They could surprise us if Waite find a way to bring Carey Price back to his golden junior years level.

So after an OK 2013-2014 season (I think they'll finish 3rd in the division and earn a playoff spot before losing in the second round) a lot a decision will have to be made so let's see what you'll do if you were MB during summer of 2014 and like a tard haven't sign extension to any of your players during the year.

This is the future list of our players ;

Forward (13):

Bourque, Rene : 2 years/3,333,333 $ left + no trade clause
Briere, Danny : 1 year/4 m$ left + no trade clause
Desharnais, David : 3 years/3,5 m$ left
Eller, Lars : RFA last contract -> 1,325 m$
Galchenyuk, Alex : 1 year/3,225 m$ left
Gallagher, Brendan : 1 year/870k $ left
Gionta, Brian : UFA last contract -> 5 m$
Moen, Travis : 2 years/1,850 m$ left
Pacioretty, Max : 5 years/4,5 m$ left
Parros, George : UFA last contract -> 937,5k $
Plekanec, Tomas : 2 years/5 m$ left
Prust, Brandon : 2 years/2,5 m$ left
White, Ryan : RFA last contract -> 700k $

Defensemen (9):

Bouillon, Francis : UFA last contract -> 1,5 m$
Diaz, Raphael : UFA last contract -> 1,225 m$
Drewiske, Davis : 1 year/637,5k $ left
Emelin, Alexei : UFA last contract -> 2 m$
Gorges, Josh : 4 years/3,9 m$ left
Markov, Andrei : UFA last contract -> 5,75 m$
Murray, Douglas : UFA last contract -> 1,5 m$
Subban, P.K. : RFA last contract -> 2,875 m$
Tinordi, Jarred : 1 year/1,082,500 $ left

Goalies (2) :

Budaj, Peter : 1 year/1,4 m$ left
Price, Carey : 4 year/6,5 m$ left

Cap space : 24,674,167 $

What'll do with this roster is

- Sing Eller 4 years/3 m$
- Sign P.K 8 years/7 m$
- Sign Emelin 4 years/3 m$
- Sign Diaz 2 years/2 m$
- Sign Markov 1 year/ 2,5 m$
- Bye to Gionta, Parros, White, Murray, Bouillon
- If DD play as floppy as last year buyout

My 2014-2015 line-up

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Brière

*Vanek - Galchenyuk - Gallagher

Bourque - Eller - Collberg

Prust - *Fraser - Moen

Subban - Gorges

Markov - Emelin

Diaz - Tinordi

- Beaulieu

Price
Budaj

*FA signing : - Colin Fraser 900k
- *Thomas Vanek 6,5 m$
l List of possible free agent l

This topic is a lot a if this happens, if that, if ... but still it could be a sick team. ( I know I should have fix the D but VANEK nuff' said.)

No way in hell that Markov or Eller sign those proposed deals.

If Markov's play this year drops his worth to 2.5m one year deal then he should just retire. I get that he is slower than he used to be, but .. no.

I also highly doubt Eller would lock himself into a 4 year deal at 3m at this point in his career. I'm not even neary as high on Eller as most fans but that deal just doesn't make sense for him.

I give Markov 2 years before he retires, he'll be even slower this year and I believe he'll play around 55 games if he doesn't have an injury before. I think he will retire with the CH so 2,5million for the 30 games he will play in 2014-2015 is a pretty good deal for him and during those 30 games Beaulieu will fix is NHL game.

For Eller he still have to prove himself, with the injury he suffered against Ottawa I doubt he is a 100% even if he says so, concussion can kill a player career without them knowing. He'll will have about 35-50 points if Therrien gives him ice time but at the same time he play as a 3rd liner so during the next 4 years he will improve and could go for about 4,5million but right now it would be overrating Eller.

Markov was 4th in scoring by D last season. If he has a similar year, he will likely be offered a small raise on a short contact.

Eller will outplay DD next year. Depending on his numbers, I don't doubt he'll get a handsome contract with a good term- 4 to 5 years.
