He played well for the most part for the Sharks - and that's the gratitude you're seeing from those fans (his past service).
Surely no one out there considers it so much better to be paying Braun $1.25 million to play on that same pairing... or 3 times as much (with a NTC) for what Vlasic brings them.

Murray is a much better fit than Braun for the Habs, but I'm not sure thats the case for SJ. Vlasic is awesome and He's easily worth his contract.

More likely than not, Martin would get his ass kicked by Moen.

As for Carkner and Boulton, well we still got Parros, Prust, Murray and White to take care of them. Which means two of these guys will still be running around on Moulson and Vishnovski without you guys being unable to do anything about it.

Geez...since when a 1-year contract of 1,5 M$ is becoming so much a problem? Is the Cap 10 M$???

I love the 1 year term so we can get rid of him if it doesn't pan out. Kudos to Bergevin!

He's still be running around and yapping/hitting/taking liberties on players while these guys are in the box after fighting, say, Parros and Murray/Prust.

Good signing. Finally have a big body with grit to clear the front of the net. I'm not worried about his lack of mobility, Gill did pretty well in Montreal with a mobile partner and he looked like a fish flopping all over the place.

Um, no. If Murray was signed for league minimum I would have torched SAP Center. Braun was on the top pair got the Sharks and shut down the Sedins in the playoffs. Without him we might not even win that series, let alone swept them. He's worth 4M to the team easily, while Murray was our worst player by far while he was here. I would rather pay Braun 5M than Murray 1.5M.

Also, since when are Murray a good fighter? Did he ever beat a legitimate heavy? Didnt twice the size Rypien handle him a couple of years back.

And no no no, Moen is a fckin joke compared to Martin

The thing is Boulton career is pretty much done....don't think he will play over 25 games in the NHL next year.

If he's able to play bottom pairing minutes and contribute physically and on the PK this will be a success, a big dman was a huge need and that need was met with this signing.
