I also doubt that we will be moving liles this season unless a team runs into big injury trouble.

Given how tight we are with the cap already due to suspension and injury I'm guessing we have already tried offering Liles at half salary for a 7th with no takes.

lol, i dont think someone is giving up a bad prospect for liles at 50%.

its an unfortunate situation because i think liles can still play and probably deserve close to his contract if he actually played. im also not convinced that he isnt back up with the leafs in 10 games if rielly cant handle the nhl level yet.

I hate how the Leafs dealt with his situation. If you wanna get rid of him, play him and play his value up. It's not like he can't play. Just because he doesn't fit into RC's jam, we will have to waste a **** load of cap space and waste an asset.

Anaheim has a tun of prospects and they're probably wanting to give some for immediate help but they probably want a cheap/decent cap hit player in their mid 20s. Liles is neither cheap nor young.

If the Jets were looking to deal Paul Postma, Anahiem would be a GREAT trading partner for them.

Liles is just a victim of the numbers game. I genuinely feel bad for him because a veteran defenceman of his stature has no business playing in the minors at this stage of his career.

HOCKEY INSIDERS ON FLYERS, SEDINS UPDATE, DUCKS DEALING?

There's early trade talk with Anaheim?

Dreger - Anaheim Ducks GM Bob Murray is looking for a defenceman and its believed Toronto, Pittsburgh and maybe Philadelphia are involved. They want a young defenceman and may give up a young forward in return.
If Toronto is involved in trade talks with the Ducks, for a young defenceman, you would have to think Gardiner's name has popped up but who would the young forward coming back be, certainly not Perry or Getzlaf but more like Holland or Silfverberg?...Meh!

Hope its Liles but Gunnar is a more likely target.

Remember the Luongo?

Reilly isn't ready to replace Gardiner so lets forget these silly Gardiner goes back to Anaheim for nothing because they want him rumours. We need Gardiner, especially against Boston in the playoffs. What does Anaheim have to offer? That is right they can't afford to offer much.

Rumours are Toronto wants Crosby but have told Pitts we won't pay more than a 1st rounder.

**** that. we arent moving gardiner for what the ducks are prepared to offer. i also assume they are looking for a more established defenseman who can do something right away. they have young defenseman like gardiner already. i would think they want someone "like" but not necessarily gunnarson.

Anaheim probably wants Franson or Gunnarsson. Pretty much a no-go for both of them, although Franson may push Gunnarsson out of the #2 spot, so we'll see I guess.

Not a lot (other than the obvious) appeals to me from the Ducks. I think Holland is player Nonis should be asking for, other than that seems like a difficult deal to make.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say absolutely not from ANA perspective. Former 1st round center with size ready to take the jump, for an overpaid bottom pairing D who was waiver fodder?

Un bloody likely

Well we traded Colbourne to the Flames, for their 4th rd pick and he was a first round pick of Boston's and I'm not sure the Ducks wouldn't certainly, at least think about it.

I think 18/4 is more realistic...4.5 cap hit which I think is fair, especially if he signs it on Jan 1st.

DSP is not even close to Gunnarson's value. I don't know what Gunnarson would bring back if we dealt him (I have a feeling he will be a victim of the cap crunch sooner or later), but it will be more than that. Or at least, I think a better prospect and no pick because I doubt anyone trades a 1st for him but he's worth more than a 2nd.

Holland is coming to the point where he needs to breakout. Similar to Colborne, he's been all tools no toolbox thus far.

I still think the value is just too far off. Holland can likely fetch a mid to late 1st... Liles just can't right now. No market for him.
