I don't really understand the 'universal' infatuation with Erik Karlsson.
One really good year, and there goes the neighborhood...not sure if this guy can even make a 10 yr career in the league, personally I think injuries will be his downfall, he just doesn't have the bulk for a dman to stay away from injuries...he's an offensive talent, but time will tell if he can even stay in the league...
from the hash marks in he is as good as it gets but you wont win cup with him as your best player
stats fantasy player, elite pp guy
I don't agree with him being top 5 but at least bring some solid arguments against him, he isn't an offense only d-man. He is very good at cutting off the passing lanes and taking the puck away in the defensive and neutral zone, obviously the defensive side of his game isn't his forte he certainly isn't a one way offensive player as you say. Also what is this about an average skater? Karlsson has one of those fluid skating strides which you don't realize how fast he's actually going. If you're basing this on the playoffs of course he wasn't full speed, I would suggest catching some games from the beggining of the season. He was playing like the best d-man in the NHL. He is also amazing at pivoting and can change directions easily due to his magnificent skating stride. I know you have an infatuation with big, physical players but let's not make stuff up here.
THN has become a worthless rag for the most part........I only buy the draft preview anymore as the rest of the time it is no better than reading the local paper. Sports writers are simply every day fans with journalism degrees......99% of fans are completely clueless about their favourite sport which is clearly reflected in this pathetic publication.
