Everyone's all over mason but i think emery's gonna be the guy. Maybe they'll both be legit and we'll actually survive the insane embarrassment i feel every time i read something about how awesome bob is now. God dammit we screwed that up so bad. I'm trying to stay positive but we really are jackasses.

This article doesn't take into account, that Emery played under pain for a few weeks before getting sidelined.
His stats and play in his first 10 to 15 games were absolutely amazing, I remember Lavy even making a case for him to be on Team Canada for the Olympics on TSN.

Before he had the abdominal/hip injuries(all of October and November), his numbers were: 11-7-1 and he allowed 55 goals in that time frame for a GAA of roughly 2.89. Some of this could be contributed to how awful of a coach John Stevens was, but the fact is when Ray Emery was here, he wasn't all that great. He was okay, but nothing special at all. People don't seem to remember that.

Before his injury, Emery was playing great for us. If you look at his game log for that season, you can tell exactly when he wan't 100% (mid November). From what i recall, he kept playing a few more games because they thought he could deal with the pain, then he missed a month and came back too soon just to make it worse

Yeah this is what I recall as well. He was trying to play through his injury for a while longer than he should have and it showed..
