Is he eligible to sign with the Kings as a UFA if they like what they see?
I believe so. The only restriction is on Europeans (or at least prospects who played 2012-13 in Europe) with remaining draft eligibility. That's why the Kings were able to sign Martin Jones, but weren't able to sign Radko Gudas.
The Wolves rallied from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game and Mathew Campagna just missed on a break-away, before Team Finland came back and scored the winner with just 45 seconds remaining in the game.
He is expecting to have a big season this year. Article below cites his work ethic off season to improve his game. He sounds like a guy who is a real DL type player, the comments below the article link are good ones.
Campagna put in a ton of effort through the summer months, determined to add to his game.
"This year, I have to change my game," he said. "I want to be more physical, more intimidating and get in the corners and be a two-way player, and that's what I'm here for, to help in the scoring but also with defence and penalty killing. "I changed my whole summer program and trained with Gary Roberts this year," he added. "He taught me everything from eating habits and work ethic and all that other stuff and told us about his experiences. He said it's not about the skill, it's how hard you're going to work and outwork the other guy. Hard work beats skill any time of the day and he taught me that. So hopefully I can bring the strength, speed and skill all over my game and keep that work ethic up."
Campagna wants to play a key role for the Wolves this season.
"I've been here the longest and would like to be a leader," he said. "I know this town and this crowd after being here for three years already, so hopefully I can take a leadership role and I want to be the go-to guy offensively."
