Most rookies on opening day roster

Greetings,

Just curious does anyone know the most rookies on an opening day roster of a team that was not a new franchise? For example, this year the Sabres may be playing a lot of rookies

This isn't an direct answer to the question but I think Tkachuk was still technically a rookie in the 92–93 Jets season and so the whole first line, the "Olympic Line", were rookies. Tkachuk was 20 and Zhamnov and Salami 22 so it wasn't a bunch of teenagers though, but rookies anyhow. Also technically a rookie on that same team, glorious player Evgeny Davydov. And Sergei Bautin. Kris Draper could have been a rookie, again technically, if he played more than 7 games. Team also rocked sophomores Igor Ulanov and Stu Barnes, and a young Tie Domi. Thomas Steen was the only guy 30+ who played the whole season.

It's only 5 guys but all of them was on the opening day roster.

^ Draper was a rookie so it's 6 players on that opening day roster, I don't think it matters he only played 7 games that season.

Seems to me that when the Flyers played the Oilers in the 84-85
SC they had 8 rookies on the team, though I'm not sure if that is the record it's a good chunk of the team.

The 85-86 Habs had a ton of rookies:

Claude Lemieux
Bryan Skrudland
Stephane Richer
Kjell Dahlin
Pat Roy
Petr Svoboda
Sergio Momesso
Mike Lalor
Randy Bucyk
Steve Rooney
Serge Boisvert

Not sure how many played on opening night, but I recall hearing 8. They also had quite a few 2nd year players, like Chelios, Kurvers, Mcphee and Penney.
