Someone asked Russo about all the waivers today and he said the Wild guys, Dumont and Bobby Butler. A lot less than I was expecting today, I guess everyone's going to try to sneak their guys through on the weekend!
Dan O'Toole: "So if I have this right, only acceptable goal celebration in NHL is to put hands at your sides and then feel shame."
Regarding Petrecki, I think he will end up on another team- either through waivers this season or moving on after this one-year. The Worcester guys aren't big on him but what little I've seen with him in the preseason makes me think he could crack an NHL roster. He was a prospect that was awful starting in the AHL and has turned into a guy that is inconsistent, but if he played to the top end of that could be really good. Perhaps he will be a late-blooming defenseman.
If your team has crap defensive depth, I think he could surprise as a #7 and work his way into a third pairing. Not on most playoff team's rosters though.
Tyler Cuma used to be a top prospect. What happened?
In the seasons after he was drafted, he played 21, 52, 31, 74, and 42 games. He's not completely off the radar with the Wild, but he's now more of a longshot to make it to the NHL as anything more than a fill-in/tweener.
He'd be a great pickup by a lot of teams. WHat happened to his statline since '11? Injuries?
he would be a great pickup for alot of teams but wasn't even close to cracking a teams roster that is projected to be a bottom feeder.
He has no physical game, has heavy feet and no defensive game. Even his offensive game is pretty non existant. I don't expect him to get claimed and if he does he probably has a Zach Boychuk situation.
