No kidding. Its a curse on the organization.

Thank goodness for Monahan. Now we just need one more #1/2 center

How does live the life differ from previous career modes?

Also have they streamlined the game simming process yet? Or does it take forevever still to sim entire seasons?

live the life is better but it's far from perfect. you can now request a trade and retire whenever you want. there are also pre-game and post-game interviews that determine how much the fanbase/teammates/management/family likes and respects your character. it keeps track of your earned salary throughout your career (though i don't think you can actually do anything with it, making it kinda useless) and you can earn sponsorships. and yes it takes forever to sim still.

overall i think it's about the same experience as previous games. Cool little gimmicks but they don't seem to affect gameplay much

Requesting a trade and retiring were in NHL 13. As far as gameplay goes, I think it is better, to be honest. I seem to have found a set of sliders which makes it so that I score under 2 ppg in the WHL as a 17-year-old. In previous games, this was impossible, and the game would be broken for me as soon as I figured out the way to score 4 points in every game (in '13 it was the breakout pass down the boards while the d-men are flat-footed).

Granted, I need to put it on superstar, mess with sliders and crank the difficulty adjustment to full, but it's still an improvement because this was ineffective in previous titles.

I already finished four seasons in Live the Life and 8 seasons in my BeaGm mode. Not bad.

Yesterday was the first time I played HUT in almost a month. In Division 3, I was 3-3 and went on 4 game winning streak to be promoted to division 2. Today I played again and won 5 games in a row. I am currently on a 9 game winning streak. I need to win 3 more games in a row to be promoted to Division 1.

btw, I ONLY play when it comes to Live the Life. I sim for all things BeaGM.

On another note, should I pull the trigger on Vanek for Bobrosvky? My other two goalies are Bernier and Lehtonen. Just worried that Bernier will not get enough starts for me to win my goalie stats.

I have been very much toying with moving Bobrovsky in our fantasy pool because he's got high value and returns a below-average number of wins. I'm holding onto him for now, though, because I don't really have any options. I also have Bernier, of course, and it is a bit of a concern how many starts he'll get. I'd say that once Lehtonen is healthy, you should be able to roll with just Karri and Bernier. Lehtonen plays a lot when he's playing.

^ Lehtonen is already back, so that's why I'm toying with the idea. Because I think Vanek will light it up next to JT.

Alright, I finished my draft year with the Victoria Royals in Live the Life mode. Scored 64g, 54a, 118p in the regular season with 704PIM. They were telling me I'd get drafted in the third round, so I turned off fighting for the playoffs. I also added boosts so that I would make sure to catch the scouts' attention. I went 38/18/56 in only 18 playoff games to win the WHL Championship, then 10/10/20 in 5 games to win the Memorial Cup.

One of the neat features with LTL mode is before the draft, you get interviewed by three teams who are interested in picking you. I was told I'd be a top 5 pick going into the draft, and the top 5 picks were held by Toronto, Columbus, New York (Islanders), Calgary and Florida. I did play around with it a bit. The first time, I was a jackass to Toronto, Columbus and New York, hoping to get picked by Calgary, but I dropped to the second round. (By the way, Reinhart was drafted 17th overall and Ekblad was taken 23rd, by the Oilers)

The second time around I tried to impress. I got drafted second overall by the New York Islanders. The player taken first was Nick Ritchie. Have fun with that, Toronto.

I saw Gawker and Toronto Star. I assume you wish to discuss Rob Ford? In Russian?

Then you've come to right place!!

In a 1 year league?

I would keep Wideman for his time on ice but would do the deal.

sam reinhart was such a bust for me. i had him in the ahl for like 8 years and he never reached 78 overall, then he demanded like 2.5m per season. couldn't even score at a ppg pace

Nice! Hanowski turned out to be a 2nd liner for me. Good for 40-50 points.
