Looks like a complete non issue what so ever. Nothing she stated gave me an inclination that she's gonna interfere with anything. Hell; I live here and **** about the weather almost daily in the winter but I still remain here.
I know we navel gaze everything here with the wives of the rich and famous since Pronger but in all fairness we may want to leave stuff like this alone. Just because we discern some kind of trend here I don't know its fair to someone like Mrs Scrivens or Mr to keep hashing over stuff like this.
I for one, welcome Mrs Scrivens to Edmonton, embrace the North, buy some snowshoes, get a dog team, well, no, its not that bad. Plus we have WEM and beautiful Rocky Mountains. I don't know if the org does this, but they should, is Katz should send all the wives and families out to JPL at least once a winter all expenses paid to check out some of what this province does have to offer. Or alternately Banff Springs hotel or Lake Louise. Get them out embracing some of what we have here.
My wife's from LA. She's been here 13 years and would never move back. She loves the seasons, the Rockies, and the Oilers. She mentioned the other day that WEM is getting more high end stores and she is impressed with the growth at the airport.
Sure the weather can be tough in the winter but you can always jump on a plane and be in Cali in 3 hrs. I'd like to welcome the Scrivens to Edmonton and I hope things work out well for them.
haha, just before Christmas Edmonton had the coldest recorded temps (with windchill) found anywhere on the planet.
About 10 days ago it got to -40windchill again. Went to a University of Alberta hockey game that night and walking to the game I thought my face was going to fall off..
Well, you can count the windchill if you want there is still colder where i live. In the next 10 days the coldes you will have is 15.8F or -9C. We have -29C as lowest ( -20F)
And that is without any windchill. When you have -30C for shorter times we have -30C for three weeks.
With the way Martin Jones has been playing the past couple of weeks, Scrivens and his wife were one bad game from planning a move to Manchester, NH after Quick came back from injury. She must have been denying the reality of the her situation if she thought being the back-up goaltender in LA (with little hope of becoming the starter in the future) was a stable position.
