hockey in nyc

hi guys
im new to the boards. gonna visit nyc this october and wanted to ask if theres some good stores to buy hockey stuff (equipment, jerseys etc.). i know paragon sports (?) near union square and cosbys. i really hope im gonna see my first nhl game. did the garden tour last september when i was there and was pretty excited about it. its pretty hard to follow the nhl in germany since its got no tv coverage, the internet (live streaming) is pretty much the only possibility. ive been reading your discussions for a while now and im looking forward to join you.
anyway. just wanted to say hello. greetings from germany

Those still are...

the two best places in NYC...you can also try Sports Authority on 33rd and seventh, across from the Garden.

I doubt theres going to be any hockey going around this year..but welcome to HFboards! Glad to know that you are a NYR fan! For sports equipment, you can also try Sports Authority or Modells. I mostly buy my stuff online.

tough to say. i loved jagr back in his pittsburgh days. lets hope he can carry over his game from the wc. i also like balej a lot. lets hope we stick to the youth movement and bring over guys like immonen or lundqvist. i also think that with the right environment lundmark can still blossom into a nice 2nd liner.

I doubt you've been following the talks at all recently with that remark. Deal will be done before next Friday..sources?..pretty much every media source that follows hockey.

if you don't want to get taken to the cleaners

stay away from Crosby's

Absolutely horrid the prices they charge, but if you are in town for a short period and don't really care all that much, then by all means spend away.

In White Plains there's a decent spot:

Anl Sports Ctr
221 E Post Rd, White Plains, NY 10601-4902
914-946-1685

It's a 20 minute ride from the city.

If you are going to spend money, better off going there.
