I would really appreciate a definitive answer as to what side of center Thomas plays on. I've seen it reported as both LW and RW. Anyone know if he has a preference?

Considering he scores all his goals down low from the left side on one-timers, his preference must be LW. He's a right shot playing on his off-wing...

Right on, that's excellent news. LW is a serious positional weakness for the Habs and I think we can all see Thomas being a prime call up to play in the top 9.

Man our fanbase sucks. Like seriously... We're starting to fall down the charts. Sooner or later we'll be with the Coyotes. Ony like what, 2000 people for a game? Pathetic.

Of course sometime he's going to misd it but he still bring more positive than negative.
Subban is overall a better player, it doesn't help your point. Also, you cna't have 6 defensemen who potentially can earn 7M$ in your line up too.

BROSSARD – Taking lessons learned during his rookie year in pro hockey to heart has readied Greg Pateryn for the season ahead.

Participating in Canadiens rookie camp at the Bell Sports Complex after spending the 2012-13 season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, the Sterling Heights, MI native returned to Montreal focused squarely on showing Habs brass that his inaugural season in the AHL and offseason workout regimen has yielded positive results.

“One of my main goals [over the summer] was to get faster and stronger,” affirmed the 23-year-old, whose summer fitness program in Michigan targeted explosiveness and power and also included skating sessions alongside NHLers Jack Johnson, Matt Hunwick, Ryan Kesler, David Moss and Shawn Horcoff. “I want to showcase my size and physicality. I want to be one of the biggest and [meanest] guys out there, but keep things under control. I want to show what I’ve worked on, and make [management’s] decision difficult.

“I feel confident, especially with getting a little taste of what it was like last year,” added Pateryn, who finished tied for first among Bulldogs defensemen with seven goals in 39 games played last season. “Getting back and feeling more comfortable around the guys and being able to skate with them, getting an opportunity to know some of them, I think that translates to confidence on the ice.

But you have to ask yourself why is he that much a better player and one ofvthe answer is he's not playing it too safe.

I like the sounds of this. He was ok in the few games he was called up for but I don't recall him playing physical.

He does deliver some hits, at least at the AHL level he did, it seems to be part of his game. Not at the Emelin or Subban level but maybe a notch under Tinordi.
